You speak to my heart, i was discussing the same issue with some friends yesterday, since 2001 Pakistan turns to modernization and liberalism. However, Taliban in Afghanistan is kind of moral support to molvis in Pakistan. this is the reason these molvis never speak a word against any kind of Taliban.
Now drama will start in Pakistan against women education, jobs, dressing.... and issue is that our institutions are not strong enough to handle this situation.

Pakistan didn't support Taliban out rightly but wanted a balanced govt in Afghanistan for the same reason that we didn't want a completely radicalized state. The world didn't listen to Pakistan's repeated calls. It's the world to be blamed.

Pakistanis happy over Taliban takeover just because it will counter Indian influence in Afghanistan are wrong. Taliban government will bring more problems for the Pakistan's society. It will increase the radicalisation by emboldening fanatics into thinking that if Afghanistan then why not Pakistan? This is a regression not progress, and congratulations to Pakistan for standing on the wrong side of history, once again.

Any Pakistani who thinks that their system is a better one should try to move there. It is one of the few countries who might accept entry on Pakistani passport without visa. I hope I am proven wrong, but consider this a warning, I see this coming home. Wait for the next wave of a TLP, fazlu or minority clash and check the intensity this time.

I understand your apprehension - But what should Pakistan have done?
US negotiated a retreat with the taliban.
US failed to leave behind a sustainable Afghan army (even though they knew of the corruption on Afghan side re ghost army)
Ghani failed to negotiate a deal with taliban when he had the upper hand, and has now fled
Pakistan has consistently been calling for a peace deal for months.
Pakistan has fenced thier border in anticipation and refused to absorb refugees.

how is Pakistan on the wrong side of history?

Just check the international press (excluding Indian media) today - Biden /Ghani are getting roasted - very few are blaming Pakistan

Why is it hard for Pakistanis to mind their own business? Those who are rejoicing Taliban, know that they are misguided and have only devbandi idea of Islam. They have twisted ways of ruling the country. Our only interest should be Indian influence and the influence of TTP, and those red cap renegades (forgot the name).

Almost every sane Pakistani knows that Taliban rule means Influx of immigrants who abuse Pakistan religiously, lots of afghan women fleeing into KPK and Punjab who will poison our environment. Not that we have a good one, but still, it is how things are.

We should let our government and forces do the needful. I hate afghans to the core. They are conniving and prejudiced people. I have no interest in their well-being. I am just interested in repelling Indian aggression.
