I disagree with due respect. As long as ANYONE is posting within the forum rules and without abusive language. He shouldn't be cursed or banned. I have seen bad language and personal attacks on various anti PTI supporters. Wa landmark is one of them. Some members left due to this language.
I believe you jumped in mid-discussion and you are missing the context :-) We were talking about why the person I was exchanging the messages with gets himself entangled with lot of PTI supporters. It was sort of a continuation of a discussion @barca was having with him last night (part of the context that you missed :-)
Having said that I still don't understand what you were disagreeing with :-) In no way I am justifying ANY abuse from ANYONE on the forum or in real life.
I said in my earlier posts that NO one should abuse anyone. I personally think that if someone does that its only because they don't have a strong argument to support their view point. I see all day people cursing public figures and I personally don't like it but the admins/mods allow it as long as it is not a personal attack against a member.
There are many public figures that I detest but I don't curse them out. I may say that they are stupid or idiot but I don't curse them or their families.
Personal attacks are and should be off-limits. Even though I am also guilty for resorting to those a couple of times and certainly not proud of it but that was only in reaction and inaction from the administrators/mods. In most cases I deleted those posts of mine after I realized the futility of those and in some cases apologized.
I do agree that the standards on this forum have deteriorated. One reason is that there are lot more members here than when I initially joined. You are bound to lose quality when you increase the quantity on a forum like this. I also feel for the admins/mods since they have to police the forum and thousands of posts. Having said that there are certainly some biases but when I have pointed them out I got pretty good and courteous response back from the admins/mods.
I think that this forum is a microcosm of our society in large and you would find these kind of characters and attitudes when you go around. Its just that anonymity makes people cross the limits that they otherwise wouldn't.
