On TV and news media many pro army anchors like to portray that raheel shareef and army is against Nawaz Sharif. Similarly pro pmln anchors try to portrat Nawaz as some anti establishment leader. However, instead of listening to media, we should look at the facts.
Historical Facts
1) Nawaz sharif was brought into politics by army and then nutured by Zia himself to destroy PPP from punjab.
2) When Nawaz tried to kill musharraf by not allowing his plane to enter pakistan air space, army had to react otherwise the state would have been in danger. Keep in mind that nawaz had earlier attacked supreme court but army didnt step in. Army was supporting Nawaz Sharif throughout his tenure despite all his bad governance and corruption until nawaz tried to kill army chief, Musharraf.
3) Despite the fact nawaz tried killing musarraf, mushi could not hang nawaz. Instead a deal was made with saudia to give safe passage to nawaz sharif. But later on, akbar bugti was also caught in his cave but he wasnt given safe passage. Point being that army attitude was different for nawaz sharif and akbar bugti despite the fact both of them had charges of treason against them. Maybe it was because of saudi arabia pressure or something else but imagine if altaf hussain is captured, will he be given safe passage to saudia arabia? I dont think so. There is also an example of bhutto who was hanged by Zia despite pressure from several countries to free him. In short Army once again showed its love for nawaz sharif

1) During lawyers movement part 2, Army put pressure on zardari and gillani to restore ifhtikhar chaudhry. However, during 2014 dharna army didnt pressurize Nawaz Sharif to form judicial commission. Instead, raheel shareef tried to put pressure on Imran Khan and qadri to quit dharna and then commission will be formed and FIR registered.
2) Zarb-e-Azab began in North Waziristan, entered parts of kpk and then went straight to karachi. The entire province of punjab ruled by pmln was skipped. balochistan is already under army rule since musharraf's time. 2 years on, still no operations have been conducted in punjab despite the fact it is home to lashkar jhangvi, lashkar tayyeba and hundreds of foreign funded madrassas. No JITs from punjab is leaked while every week a JIT from sindh is leaked on media.
3) Shehbaz Sharif and Choi Nisaar used to meet kiyani once every year back when PPP was in govt. But during present govt, these two have met army chief more times than his wife! No other CM has been given this facility. Yet Nawaz sharif is called anti establishment leader.
Please do not fall to army and pmln propaganda. Both of 2 sides of the same coin. The reason they want to dissociate themselves from each other is because
a) Amy doesnt want to associate themselves with worst governance and corruption done by PMLN. They just want to take credit of all the operations and drop in terrorism
b) PMLN doesnt want to associate themselves with army because of international pressures. They want to be able to blame army for not doing operation against afghan taliban and haqqani network when they talk to big boss USA.
In politics this strategy is called Good cop/bad cop. Army is playing this strategy to keep popularity in Pakistani public. PMLN is playing this strategy to keep popularity in Washington and pentagon circles.
