Who cares what Mr. Gill says about something, he is not an authority. The authority are the people who support MQM overwhelmingly. This is the fact. The people like Mr. Gill write thousands of stories everyday on every topic, this is their profession, they make their living out of it. They have to write something. If we believe on them then there is no need of any elections and democracies in any country. We just have to follow their views and that's it.

Second link, Yes it was a misunderstanding locally. FP mag never declares Mustafa a second best mayor. They declaired him as one of the best three mayors in the world. FP mag does not give any numbers to these .So we can say he is # 1 rather # 2.

A rubbish and childish post

But this is true. It just happened yesterday. Everybody is still remembering.

" Within a span of one year, MQM (a diehard ally of General Musharraf) twice demonstrated its unremarkable ability to turn Karachi into the killing fields. On May 12, 2007, thousands of cameras captured its workers massacring at least 40 unsuspected Karachiites, who were on their way to welcome the Chief Justice of Pakistan. A message was sent: stay out! Karachi belongs to only MQM. Then later, on April 9, 2008, upon learning their insatiable appetite for lucrative ministries would not be satisfied; MQM once again set their workers loose on Karachi. This time, they decided to target General Musharraf's nemesis, the Lawyers. Approximately, 40 civilians were shot and 12 were killed; out of which 5 victims were burnt alive in the lawyers chambers. As they shot their hapless victims, the killers chanted, Karachi kis ka, MQM ka."

quote from UNHCR rerport.....

"The MQM-A and other factions also have been accused of trying to intimidate journalists. In one of the most flagrant cases, in 1990 MQM leader Hussein publicly threatened the editor of the monthly NEWSLINE magazine after he published an article on the MQM's alleged use of torture against dissident members (U.S. DOS Feb 1991). The following year, a prominent journalist, Zafar Abbas, was severely beaten in Karachi in an attack that was widely blamed on MQM leaders angered over articles by Abbas describing the party's factionalization. The same year, MQM activists assaulted scores of vendors selling DAWN, Pakistan's largest English-language newspaper, and other periodicals owned by Herald Publications (U.S. DOS Feb 1992).

The MQM-A has also frequently called strikes in Karachi and other cities in Sindh province and used killings and other violence to keep shops closed and people off the streets. During strikes, MQM-A activists have ransacked businesses that remained open and attacked motorists and pedestrians who ventured outside (U.S. DOS Feb 1996; Jane's 14 Feb 2003).

The MQM-A allegedly raises funds through extortion, narcotics smuggling, and other criminal activities. In addition, Mohajirs in Pakistan and overseas provide funds to the MQM-A through charitable foundations (Jane's 14 Feb 2003)."

I like the subject of the topic. Shows your anger, frustration. Despite so many attempts from media, TANGA PARTIES, Jamaat-e-Islami, operation on 19th June, 1992, still MQM exist by the grace of God.
