PESHAWAR: Senior Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bashir Ahmed Bilour passed away in Peshawar's Lady Reading Hospital after doctors failed to resuscitate him. He was critically injured in a suicide attack in Peshawar, Geo News reported.

The blast also left 8 others dead and 18 injured, sources said.

The attack took place when the Awami National Party's President for KPK Bashir Ahmed Bilour was exiting the residence of the party's local leader following a meeting, along with his personal secretary and SHO Kabuli Police Station.

Both the personal secretary Noor Mohammed as well as the SHO, Sattar Khan were killed on the spot while 18 others were injured. According to hospital sources, Bashir Bilour was brought to the hospital in critical condition and was unconscious.

Bashir Bilour - who repeatedly termed the fight against terrorism as 'our own battle' - had received critical wounds to his chest and stomach.

The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan have claimed responsibility for the attack.

قصہ خوانی بازار کے قریب عوامی نیشنل پارٹی کے جلسہ گاہ کے قریب خودکش دھماکے کے نتیجے میں ایس ایچ او سمیت 7 افراد جاں بحق جبکہ سینئیر صوبائی وزیر بشیر احمد بلور سمیت 10 سے زائد افراد زخمی ہوگئے ہیں۔

پولیس کے مطابق بم دھماکا قصہ خوانی بازار کے علاقے ڈھکی نعلبندی میں ہوا، دھماکے میں تھانہ کابلی کے ایس ایچ او عبدالستار خان سمیت 6 افراد موقع پر ہی جاں بحق ہوگئے۔ دھماکا اتنا شدید تھا کہ اس سے اطراف کی عمارتوں کے شیشے ٹوٹ گئے۔ دھماکے میں جاں بحق اور زخمیوں کو لیڈی ریڈنگ اسپتال منتقل کردیا گیاہے جہاں زخمیوں کو طبی امداد فراہم کی جارہی ہے ۔طبی عملے کے مطابق کئی زخمیوں کی حالت انتہائی تشویشناک ہے جس کے باعث جاں بحق افراد کی تعداد میں اضافے کا خدشہ ظاہر کیا جارہا ہے۔​
