SA policy on Kashmir is exactly what has been the effective policy .of Pakistan in the last 25+ years.
Pak leaders hosted Gujral,, Bachpai and Modi and went all the way to be humiliated over and over again. Kargal war was the final episode when Pak leadership shows its lack of any resolve about Kashmir. , Musharraf claimed "Pakistan First".. Pak had practically abandoned Kashmiri people - - and had hoped onlyt for a fig leaf to save face. When Pak negotiated on "Chenab formula, how it expected others to adhere to UN resolution or take a stand on humanitarian grounds. One never expected sanity or morality from PPP, but PMLN had adopted an open policy of trade only and willingness to work under Indian hegemony in the region. ( It was Indian arrogance and stupidity that they didn't fully utilized stooges like Zardari and nawaz and post 911 situation to consolidate their power in the region. )
Similarly consecutive pak governments let slip the labor advantage Pakistan had in SA and other Gulf states. .Pak leadership has been more interested in personal properties in Gulf. When PM and FM have Aqaamas and PPP leadership had used these countries to invest ill-gotten wealth and has engaged in illegitimate business practices, Since long Arabs and our other friends have adopted their policies on kashmir following Pak policy and looking at the conduct and interests of our elected leadership. .
Indian diaspora has an effective voice and Bollywood/Indian TV has penetrated in their society today.
Now Pakistan wants that suddenly the policies of these countries may change because Pakistan has gotten serious about Kashmir and they abandon their business interest!!!
Anyhow, it will take a bit more time but SA will come around on Kashmir issue and adopt to Pak demands. Pakistan is the only reliable defense partner for SA and Gulf states - while India, in case of any crisis, is their rival, if not outright opponent, . If one assesses Indian foreign policy in the last 70+ years, they may be good for trade and are fried of none and have ingrained colonial mindset to accommodate western interests. India lacks a meaningful identity and has no real future in Asia except for a despised agent of western powers.
