Karachi : Zimbabwe's cricket team has offered to tour Pakistan to raise funds for the victims of the country's massive floods, despite the suspension of foreign visits following a militant attack last year.
An official of the Pakistan Cricket Board said the governing body of the ZCU had made contact over a proposed tour.
"They are willing to come over and play a series as they want to help us raise funds for the flood victims. They have left it up to us to give dates and schedule for the tour," media manager Nadeem Sarwar said.

Banned

Pakistan has been banned from hosting international cricket tours since militants attacked the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore last year.
Six Pakistani policemen and a van driver were killed while five Sri Lankan players were wounded.
The International Cricket Council moved matches of the 2011 World Cup away from Pakistan because of security concerns.
Since the attack, Pakistan have been forced to play home series at neutral venues including matches against Australia and New Zealand.
Pakistan are scheduled to play a "home" test series against South Africa in the United Arab Emirates in October.
Sarwar said the ICC and member boards were keen to help Pakistan cricket and most importantly to raise funds for flood victims.

Request

PCB Chairman Ijaz Butt told TV One on Friday that they had asked several boards including India to play matches to raise money for flood victims.
The worst floods in Pakistan's history have claimed around 1,500 lives, washed away thousands of villages and left millions homeless.

It would be a good chance for pakistan but the biggest question remain is that Is Pakistan ready for that????Karachi is full of problems at this moment in terms of Law and order, The history of attack on a foreign team was written in lahore so Zimbabwe's perception wont be good for Lahore in law and order thwn weare left with Rawalpindi and Multan the only venues available where Neither Zimbabwe have any issue nor pakistan have any issue about security cause Rawalpindi is the place where Pakistan can ensure security much better then other areas due to having GHQ and Multan is not a very big city and by increasing the Number of Security personnel the whole security issue can easily be addressed so now those are the option that Pakistan have right now....

I appreciate the philanthropy of the zimbabwe cricket team, i truly do. May Allah bless them. Now, if the Zimbabwe cricket club, coming from a country that is, as we all know, completely impoverished, can afford to come to our aid, then can't our great president Zardari? after all, according to forbes and the USA Senate, he and his son have at least 2 billion US dollars. Why is Bilawal soliciting donations for victims in London when he and his dad have LOADS to give? It reminds me of how the African military dictators of places like the congo like to fly into the UN headquarters to plead for debt relief as they stay in multi-thousand dollar a night deluxe hotel suites while claiming that "their people" are too poor too pay off the debt.

I would say that although Zimbabwe has done it in good fervor and we should appreciate them in this matter as much as we can; but the situation in the country does not allow this kind of event.

Its better to be safe than sorry.

My two cents.

Wassalam!

I would agree with the above!!!!

The games should perhaps be played in the emirates to ensure the visitors safety and also this venue would probably raise more funds than in Pakistan.
