LAHORE: Well placed sources in the PML-N told The Express Tribune that former Test captain Aamir Sohail was asked to join the party after a survey of youth revealed that PTI’s popularity hinges on Imran Khan’s career as a cricketer.

Sohail on Thursday announced that he was joining the PML-N in the ‘national interest’. Sources said that a survey taken under Khawaja Saad Rafique revealed that 80 per cent of the youth that joined PTI did so because they were fans of Imran Khan, the cricketer.

Sources said Rafique then recommended Sohail’s name as a counter to Khan’s popularity amongst youth.
Sohail, speaking with The Express Tribune, said that he had joined PML-N to help the country out of the current crisis. He said Nawaz Sharif’s interest in sports and his manifesto had also attracted him. He said Khan was inexperienced and could not lead the country out of crisis. Comparing Sharif and Khan, he said, the former was experienced and had a clear manifesto on how to bring the country out of the current quagmire while the latter was inexperienced and had no policy prescription. PTI Central Information Secretary Omer Sarfarz Cheema told The Express Tribune that Sohail’s entry in PML-N would not dent the PTI’s youth vote bank. He said no force would defeat the PTI in the next general election.
PML-N’s Central Information Secretary Senator Mushahidullah Khan told The Tribune that Khan would soon be exposed as someone furthering the agenda of the “establishment”. He said in 1997 Khan had demanded 50 seats from PML-N but the party offered him 10 seats. Khan, he said, had rejected the offer and decided to contest the election independently.He added that Sohail was as popular amongst the youth as Khan was.

amir sohail was a speicialist batsman but still he has low scoring average both in test and one day cricket than imran khan (who was basically a bowler) , though personally i think amir sohil was a good cricketer, (but there is no comprison between them even as a cricketer)

if imran khan wanted when he left cricket any parts PPP or PMLN had given the ticket , (imran had good relations with benazir as being university fellows from oxford days), then he could easily win with help of ppp or pml-n votes and become some minster and make billions, imran khan had that option always available to him

but he did not do that which shows that his politics was never for his personal benefits.

now coming to the political field

do you think people are blind or fool or def??? that they do not see difference between imran khan and amir sohail???

imran khan has 15 years of political struggle, people both in pakistan and abroad give weight to his views as a politicians , shukat khanum hospital. namal university, charity work of more than 4 billions just in floods , and building homes for earth quick victems . when amir sohail will do so much for the nation then come back and tell us and then i will agree with u that yes now there are chances that amir sohail can beat imran khan in votes.
but before that do not think that people of pakistan are fool, or they are blind ,

it will be always imran khan and imran khan inshallah. he is a true man , honest man, pml-n cant win even if they include all the 11 players of pakistani cricket team (many of them are better cricketers than amir sohail.

Agar merey argument ghalat hey tu mujhey guide karo aur facts theek karo warna reply mut karo, again never compare IK with those legends who have religious reputation as well, v r proud on them. U can compare IK with Sarfraz nawaz, Aamir Sohail etc as they all including IK are in that category.
