FIR lodged against Lyari gangsters

Notorious Lyari-based gangster Noor Mohammad, better known as Baba Ladla, and 15 of his associates have been nominated in a first information report (FIR) lodged on Thursday in connection with the attack on the Shershah scrap yard last Tuesday.
The FIR (578/2010) has been registered at the Pak Colony Police Station by a private complainant, named Mohammad Anees.
Ladla and his associates have been charged under sections 302 (murder), 324 (attempt to murder), and 386 (extortion) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), as well as Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).
As per the account of the FIR, some 15 men arrived at the Shershah scrap yard around 6.30 pm.
Some of them were riding motorcycles, while others were on foot. The FIR states that the men identified a particular community, and then opened fire.
As many as 13 men were killed and several injured in the October 19 attack, most of whom were labourers.
The deceased included , among others, Zubair, Humair, Anees, Asif, Nasir, Tariq, Saeed, Kashif, Amjad, Ghulam Rasool, and Junaid. They were rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) and the Civil Hospitals, Karachi. Some of the victims killed in the Kabari Market incident were identified as. Most of the deceased were labourers.
Ladla is one of the gangsters named in the Sindh Polices Red Book and the Sindh government has set Rs300,000 as bounty for anyone who assists in his capture. He is a resident of Dubai Chowk, Lyari.
In the immediate aftermath of the attack, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) had named a group who were operating under Ladlas supervision.
This group was led by Jabbar Langra, and included, among others, Faisal Pathan, Fahd, Shafi Magsi, Lal Muhammad Magsi, and Zubair Vehshi.
