Time has come to decide Saudi Arabia into two parts. They have recently tried to do the same with Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria and Pakistan. How much they have or will succeed time will only tell.

Bing Maps may not be as popular as Google Maps, but the service can be used to discover some pretty interesting things throughout the globe.

Now it appears that Bing Maps’ satellite imagery is showing what seems to be a secret US drone base in Saudi Arabia, somewhere at the Eastern border with the state of Yemen.

Just as Gizmodo writes, one can tell that those three hangars are large enough to hide the well-known US Predator and Reaper drones.

Surprisingly, Google Maps doesn’t show such a military base in the region and satellite imagery collected in 2010 reveals nothing than a plain field.

What’s more, it seems that the drone base can be hardly spotted when browsing the image with the standard zooming level and the only way to notice the three hangars is to zoom in several times.

A report by Wired and citing an unnamed US officer confirms that this is indeed an American military base that holds drones supposed to fly into Yemen whenever it’s necessary.

magine if the blue in that map were the U.S... and the large red areas were Mexico and Canada... and the stars represented Iranian military bases. Then further imagine that Iranian political leaders and media figures routinely told their population that it was the U.S. that was an aggressive, threatening power that had to be stopped: the mocking condemnations of that level of propaganda would be endless. Yet American political officials and commentators feel free to insist, with a straight face, that Iran is an aggressor nation posing a serious threat to the U.S.: such a serious threat, in fact, that war may be necessary to stop it.​

Let me be quite clear here; I'm not saying that the Iranian leadership are good guys. I'm just using the graphic to show that there might be reasons for them to feel threatened.

News reports today claim the US has established a CIA drone base in Saudi Arabia for attacks within Yemen. Previously, there have been reports of drone bases in Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, Oman and Yemen operating in the US Central Command area of operations.
Some reports may be accurate but more likely these reports are based on disinformation to conceal where the bases are located.
This shows Google Maps airports and air bases in Saudi Arabia. A CIA air base is not likely to be shown by Google which has a history of concealing informaton requested by governments. These locations may be useful to show where the base is not located.
Bing.com/maps, with images by Nokia, often shows sensitive sites censored by Google. However, Google often sites that are out of date or obscured by Bing. A Saudi base search on Bing is underway.
One airport below, at Alkwifriah on the eastern coast of Saudi Arabia, is not designated on Google maps.
The photos are geographically arranged approximately from north to south, with those in the south closest to Yemen.

ريکارڈ کی درستگی کے ليے واضح کر دوں کہ سعودی عرب ميں امريکی فوجوں کی موجودگی کا نقطہ عروج 1991 کی خليجی جنگ تھی جب لگ بھگ 550000 اتحادی افواج نے عرب کے ريگستانوں ميں ڈيرے ڈالے۔ سعودی فوج کے ساتھ مل کر انھيں دو اہم اہداف حاصل کرنا تھے۔ ايک تو ان عراقی افواج سے سعودی تيل کے کنوؤں کو محفوظ کرنا تھا جو سرحد کے پار کويت پر قابض ہو چکی تھيں اور دوسرے کويت سے صدام حسين کی افواج کو بے دخل کرنے کے ليے سعودی سرزمين کو کاروائ کے نقطہ آغاز کے ليے استعمال کيا جانا مقصود تھا۔ امريکہ، سعودی عرب اور ديگر اتحادی ہوائ فورسز نے سعودی عرب ميں اڈوں کو عراق کے خلاف فضائ کاروائ کے ليے استعمال کيا تھا۔


سال 2002 ميں جب عراق ميں فوجی کاروائ کا آغاز کيا گيا تو سعودی حکومت نے امريکہ کو کچھ فوجی مقامات تک رسائ ضرور دی تھی اور دارالحکومت رياض کے پرنس سلطان ائر بيس سے امريکی کمانڈرز کے زير نگرانی اتحادی فضائ حملے ترتيب ديے گۓ تھے۔


ريکارڈ کی درستگی کے ليے يہ بھی واضح کر دوں کہ سال 2003 ميں امريکی حکام نے سعودی عرب ميں مقیم قريب 5000 امريکی فوجيوں کو واپس بلوا ليا تھا جس کے بعد ايک بہت ہی قليل تعداد سعودی عرب ميں تربيتی معاملات کی ديکھ بھال اور اس ضمن میں جاری پروگرامز کو پايہ تکميل تک پہنچانے کے ليے رہ گئ ہے۔


سال 2003 اگست 27 کو امريکی فضائيہ کے جرنل رابرٹ ايلڈر نے اس تقريب کی صدارت کی تھی جو امريکی فضائيہ کے 363 ويں ائر ايکسپی ڈیشينری ونگ کی سعودی عرب سے واپسی کے لیے پرنس سلطان ائر بيس پر منعقد کی گئ تھی جہاں پر 5000 امريکی فوجی سعودی عرب ميں مقیم رہے تھے۔


کيا آپ واقعی يہ سمجھتے ہيں کہ سو کے قريب امريکی فوجی سعودی عرب پر قبضہ جما سکتے ہيں؟
