I think you have missed few facts...any supporter's and an individual's opinion should not be taken as party's official stance. I have never seen MQM passing anything against Dr. Afia Siddique so plz avoid condemning MQM on baseless accusations

I haven't missed the point rather I have clearly stated that Altaf's statement came after the fateful verdict which created a paradigm shift in mqm's approach towards Aafia. Before that mqm was in general musharraf's camp , lock stock and barrel. This is further evidenced by the lousy statements of die hard mqmers including mehwish_ali.

An aggrieved and anguished mother will now catch at a straw. Perhaps she knows that those who could have been the collaborators of this abduction (and collaborators of general musharraf), might use their 'special links' to bring her daughter back. But even then I as a third person support this statement of Altaf. After all he acknowledged that she was 'daughter of the soil'.

Around him, one of the world's biggest cities is descending into chaos. Edhi's massive graveyard outside Karachi looks like a war cemetery. In a back street police pick up yet another victim although there is little hope of catching his murderers. Karachi's economy is fuelled by drug dealing, gun running and bribery. It's a black joke that when the police hear gunfire, they run in the opposite direction. A millionaire businessman has developed Karachi's only computerised investigation system to try to control crime. But avoiding the battlegrounds is becoming more difficult. We follow one injured woman to hospital where there's little hope of saving her life. Small businesses and shops are too afraid to open and it's difficult to sell anything legal. For many of Karachi's orphans Sattar Edhi is their only hope. Interview with Benazir Bhutto.

Aafia Siddiqui is innocent: Farooq Sattar

KARACHI: Muttahaida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Farooq Sattar on Sunday said that Dr Aafia Siddiqui is innocent and demanded that the United States release her.
Sattar was speaking to the media after visiting Dr Aafia’s house. He said that the MQM strongly condemned the sentencing of Dr Aafia and that they will leave ‘no stone unturned’ to bring her back. He also said that the pain that Dr Aafia has gone through is also felt by the nation and not her family.
He demanded that the Obama administration should take back the case and release her immediately.
Earlier, MQM Chief Altaf Hussain had called on the US to withdraw the sentence and release Dr Aafia.
Various voices in Pakistan have criticised and sympathised with Dr Aafia since the sentence.

Agar Nawaz Sharif rehem kar ke Altaf ko ilaaj ke bahanay mulk se bahir na janay deta ko waqai MQM ka chapter close tha. Burai ko jab tak jarr se khatam na kiya jaye woh khatam nahi hoti.
