Bin Laden was unarmed when shot: US
The arrest or death of bin laden was the primary aim in the war against terror.
Addressing the media, official spokesperson of the White House Jay Carney said that Pakistan helped the US in providing information regarding Osama Bin Laden’s whereabouts.
Carney said that the United States was expecting serious resistance by Bin Laden but he was unarmed at the time of the raid. Upon refusing to surrender, he was shot by the Special Forces. Orders to arrest or kill him were issued before the operation.
He said that the United States is considering releasing a video or an image regarding Osama bin Laden but no time frame could be given for a decision.
Carney said that it is possible that other important leaders are hiding in different cities. He said that it is not certain if anyone was aware about the residence of Osama Bin Laden in Pakistan. He also said that that US would probe in to the matter as it was impossible for Osama to reside there without any outside help.
Carney said that the US has had good cooperation with the Pakistan in the past and the US sees good relations even in the future. He said that despite the complexities in the relations between the two countries, they are also very important.
Carney said that Pakistan has scarified a lot in the war against terror. He said that Pakistan is a big ally in the war against terror and the US hopes to maintain the cooperation in the future.
