You have a valid point Saladin. Its like saying the amount of energy in getting gasoline from crude petrol is the same as getting the enery from burning gasoline.

Electrolysis is NOT the same as fuel refining. You are either supremely misguided or think with your feet. Oil, Crude or Refined is FUEL. Read that again. It is a FUEL. Crude Oil is a FUEL, Petrol/Diesel are refined forms of the same FUEL.
Water is NOT a FUEL. Now read that again very slowly. Water is NOT a fuel. Electrolysis is the 'splitting' of water molecule to get Hydrogen and Oxygen. The amount of energy required to SPLIT a molecule is indeed the same as that which can be release by combining it back with Oxygen

Thank you for the explanation. I do not support Agha's claim nor can I refute it. I am trying to understand the system and WHY it would be impossible. Claims of it being "possible" are no doubt weak but I must add the arguments of it being wrong, are dull too.
Few comments,
- I know water is not used as a fuel in ICE, it is either Hydrogen or HHO (whatever it exactly is)
- By exhaust, I meant exhaust of the piston-cylinder assembly, not the exhaust cylinder. Sorry for the confusion !
- All of hydrogen would not react with Oxygen hence the exit water /= as water broken.
- (bold) That part is not very convincing for me. But before making any claims, let me crosscheck and comeback on this.

Arguments of it being wrong are not dull. They are very straight forward and simple. You either do not want to, or just cannot comprehend them. That is the only problem dear.

Further more, the energy required to split a molecule would always be the same as the released from combining the same atoms. In our case
H2O split into H2 + O and then H2 + O (burning of hydrogen) = H2O. This is extremely simple and logical, surely this must not be difficult to understand unless you are a rock or a tree or something like that :).

So E MUST be equal to H. If this was not the case, the Earth would have exploded or imploded a million years ago taking along the whole universe with it ;).

If you still believe otherwise then you need to talk to God and file a complaint against his laws of nature.

Say I am wrong, but why are you people so overly aggressive ? Try answering my question, if you like to, in a proper way.

The arguments are surely dull or weakly presented, to say the least. And I was mainly referring to others in my previous post though now I should also add you in the list.
