Very Interesting Bollywood VS Loolywood

Its interesting to hear in this programme that the lions share of any motion pictures popularity belongs to the performing superstars in India and therefore they demand their remuneration accordingly. Where as the critics and academics of film industry have consensus that Film is a directors medium and only he can make or break the fortunes of this genre of fine art. Then surely the role of a financer / producer comes, who can actually work with consonance with the director to formulate a viable product for the audiences. What this analytic show has revealed is startling facts and figures and shows that to which extent our (Pakistani) film industry has dipped in terms of its quality and revenue returns.
What I think about Pakistani film industry is not that lack of talented people and technicians but surely the lack of proper technical education and training which pertains to their fields and of course for this they need finances which are in deficient number in Pakistan. But still I dont think that finance is the be all end all to raise the fortunes of this industry. All we need here is people like Satyajit Ray (The only Oscar award winning director of South Asia from the Bengali origin).who can do exceptional work and produce beautiful movies which appeals to the aesthetics of majority of the masses including for well sophisticated and educated class.
Satyajit Ray was that person who (to the best of by research) has never ventured in the commercial cinema of India, the time when Indias commercial cinema was at it zenith according to their own critics, but he in his whole life always produced movies with humbling budgets but in return his movies always did good business and recovered the costs of its producers and earning the world wide appreciation at the same time as well. All we need in Pakistan is not big budgets to produce movies but well refined artists who know the basics of their trade and in return can work wholeheartedly in this regard. Well educated and perfectionist artists is required to turn the tables of Pakistans movie industry and only by the introduction of these talented people we can overcome the crises of this industry and can pose a realistic threat to our neighbouring country in this field.
Not only we can compete with them but I can surely say that we can overtake the international markets from them as well because in reality todays Indian movies have nothing substance wise except pompous display of some superstars, portrayal of affluent and vulgar generation X classes, nudity and sensuous masala dances and songs with dubious meanings. There is no concept of good script and story in todays Indian commercial cinema and this thing is riled by their aware and educated community as well for the last many years. So the opportunities are wide for Pakistanis to tap this occasion and try to fill this void and to create good and meaningful movies first for the masses of South Asian subcontinent. The only wait is that who will become the first drop of this hugely awaited splash of blessed rain in these droughty conditions.

i agree with most of the things you said above but can agree with the last paragraph
in India, cinema is big business and not just art form. Bollywood gives employment to millions of people & pays large sums of money as tax to government. Market is always right so if Indian films are doing good that means they understand market and they know what market expects from them. If there was any market for movies showing traditional Pakistani values then Indians would be first to exploit them.By the way I am still waiting for Saudi commercial film...........
