USA can never be a friend!

In the immediate aftermath of Faisal Shahzads arrest in the US, the Obama administration acted to re***ure Pakistan that the event was not automatically going to strain ties between the two countries. However, there appears to have been some change in the tone and tenor of comments by American officials over the past couple of days.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has warned that there will be severe consequences for Pakistan if a successful terrorist attack in the US is traced to this country. Meanwhile, unnamed officials have voiced fresh concerns about militancy in Pakistan to The New York Times and The Washington Post. What are we to make of this? First of all, Ms Clintons comments are unfortunate and will rekindle suspicions here that America is no real friend of Pakistan. The Shahzad case is cause for serious concern and the possible nexus between American citizenship holders and Pakistan-based militants needs to be investigated thoroughly. But why is Americas top diplomat venturing into hypotheticals and suggesting an intention to visit harm on Pakistan as some sort of possible retribution? It is odd, to say the least. Perhaps Ms Clinton was speaking more to the domestic American audience, some members of which have been critical of the Obama administrations being soft on Pakistan. But her words were heard in Pakistan too and they would not have gone down well.

Curiously, in more or less the same time frame, Gen Petraeus, the head of the US military in this region, spoke to the Council of Foreign Relations after returning from a trip to Pakistan and struck a far more conciliatory tone. When asked if the timing of the Shahzad plot would adversely impact military-to-military cooperation between the US and Pakistan, Gen Petraeus replied: The attempted New York attack in Times Square, if anything, may strengthen the relationship. In fact, the Pakistani intelligence services, or its police, quite quickly carried out some operations related to this. So is this a case of the good-cop, bad-cop routine once again being rolled out to get Pakistan to do more in the fight against militancy?

If so, it is a bad idea. The Pakistani state is unlikely to respond to threats or inducements on this count. ***istance in relation to the Shahzad case is, both sides appear to agree, being extended by Pakistan. There appears to be some friction, but disagreements are very likely in the course of such investigations. Everything is not a conspiracy; the American side, after all, almost let Shahzad fly out of America. However, the Times Square plot must not be used as a stick to beat Pakistan with. It is the common enemy the militants that need to be fought.

of course we always present our own point of view. i dont think any one in Pak asks that why has the US not provided any help. Au contraire, we always complain WHY DO YOU HELP? Why not leave the region and save over $4B? You could use that money to create jobs in one State. Your aids and presence is what causing the problems. And now the Shazad drama in NYc.

Your spy agency CIA has been heavily infiltrated by the Mossad operative, it seems. It will be proven in time that Shazad case was just a drama to be used as a pretext for Obama to STAY IN AFGHAN. It could well have been staged by RAW or Afghan. Karzai needs US to stay so they can protect his regime. Without US backings, Karzai is doomed. India would like the US to stay so they could arrange more terrorists activities to send in Pakistan with protection from uncle Sam.

Here is something I found: http://www.davidduke.com/general/th...sad-links-to-the-attack_12195.html#more-12195

I hope you read it. the writer(s) are Americans themselves.

I dont know what could I make of that but one thing is for sure that USA is a friend of its interest and as of now Pakistan and USA have some common goals here especially in Afghanistan as Pakistan wont like Russian influence because Russian influence in central Asia and Afghanistan wont be easy to tackle as Russia has a land route available to Afghanistan and also Pakistan but in case of USA they are too far to actually directly influence this region as if USA withdrew from Afghanistan then Russia will be quick to capitalize their absence and create influence there just like old days when their was Soviet Union and just like before they will also try to reach Hot water like Karachi or Gawadar and the same trouble would start again but if Pakistan along with USA able to get there influence in Afghanistan and Central Asia then it would give a big blow to Russia and there dreams of reaching HOT WATER and if Pakistan able to retain its influence with the help of USA then even there economy would be flourish as Pakistan is the closest sea port available for those land lock countries while If Russia took over the driving seat then they would try to pursue there dreams of reaching HOT WATER which could lead Pakistan to trouble as Russia wont be that easy like USA because Russia has got its route available and as far as China's position then they are more then happy to reach Iran and Middle east as Pakistan can be bridge for them to reach those countries and even strong Pakistan is also in Chinese interest as strong Pakistan can distract attention of India from China and that would favor China as India would be kept busy with Pakistan they wont be able to pay there attention to Chinese military threat to them...So in the end...

If Pakistan stay on USA side on Afghanistan and Central Asia then the most influential and powerful country would be Pakistan as USA will left this region and they want someone to safeguard there interest and Pakistan would be there best option available so they would have to support Pakistan and strengthen it to tackle the Russian problem...

China wont mind USA Pakistan strategy because they know that Pakistan wont allow anything against China as Pakistan China has a common enemy and for that reason China want Pakistan to be stronger as this could distract India from China by kept busy with Pakistan...

If USA gone out of this region without completing their Job then they would left the empty space in Afghanistan and Central Asia and this empty space would be easily filled up by Russia very easily as no other country would be ready to counter them in the region and as a result of that they try to pursue their dream of reaching HOT WATER....

wow you wrote a LONG paragraph in ONE sentence lol you are sooooo talented. i could never do that LOL Hard to read and understand tho.

When they say US will leave, they mean the troops will leave, their presence will be obvious thru other ways, such as CIA, small contingency of troops disguised as law enforcement training, ADVISOR like they have one in the king's palace in saudia, I heard. Rest assure uncle sam is NOT packing up fully from Afghan leaving the are vulnerable to the Russians.

A suggestion to Obama thru fawad tho: US should help Pakistan take over Afghan giving few more provinces to Pakistan. It would create some problems but the benefits would far outweigh the loss. There will be lasting peace in the region, India will not be a threat to the US as she is attempting to take over US's 'world leader' position. China will also be at ease ............. something that I would like to see. After all afghan and Pak are the same and there will be no major resistance other minor ones here n there. Think about it.

USA troops would leave but looking at current scenario of there economy I dont think they could even continue their operations as they have their internal matters to take care of as well which also require their Billions which they are spending on Afghanistan so in the end even they need to limit their remaining operations in Afghanistan as the reason for entering Afghanistan was trillions of Dollor worth natural resources of Central Asia as they were also involved in covert operations in Afghanistan before 9/11 as well so due to all the limitations they have pakistan can offer them much better alternative then Pentagon in taking care of Afghanistan affairs and also central Asian affairs as well because even they know Russia and India relations and its impact on Pakistan so its completely in Pakistan's interest to support them if Pakistan dont want to be part of the same dream of Russia to reach HOT WATER...

You think someone with even half a brain would understand that Americans are for themselves. They are not in Afghanistan to take care of Russian. They do not mind Indian Infleunce in Afghanistan either. The only thing they are after is to protect their asses being kicked by Afghanis. And Afghanis will sure do that as they are doing it now , slowly but surely. Pakistan is being roughted up by Americans and they can'r even adopt a strategy for their own future. Pakistan 's future is directly liked to the Afghanistan and the certain defeat of Americans troops in Afghanistan would be a distastrous for Pakistan. Realizing that, Pakistan tried to get their own covert policy going in Afghanistan which Americans do not like too much and forcing Pakistan to walk on a tight rope. Pakistan Army is being used in such a way by Americnas that eventually when Americans would leave Afghanistan, Pakistan would have no one who is inerested in keeping its strategic importance intact. Indians would be in much better shape if American leave and someone other than Taliban take control of Afghanistan. Pakistan have finished their cards in Afghanistan and Americans would not allow them to setup their strategic depth anology in Afghansitan anymore. Since Pakistani Army is also invloved killing Pushtons in Tribal Areas, Pakistan will be winding down in Afghanistan for sure because of the enimosity of Afghan people and Pushton Population against Pakistan and its past policies of ass licking Americans against Afghanistan.

If Americans ever had problems of saving their asses then they would have started using their superior weapons as they used those back in 2001 when Taliban had no answers for those so in the same way if they start using them again then who is their to stop them???Pakistan I dont think so because even Pakistan didnt have something to destroy them at the hight those air craft fly and do you forget what happened to Saddam's Army which had took over Kuwait few months ago before Gulf war in 1992???Ever heard of Saddam's "Mother of all war" thousands of Saddam's tanks destroyed by USA and their allies so based on those scenarios ever imagine what they are capable of in Afghanistan???Actually you are right about Pakistan already used their cards by Swat and Waziristan operations but another card has emerged for Pakistan and that is non-Pashtun card of Afghanistan as it is well known that non Pashtuns are 50% of total population of Afghanistan so by getting their support we can easily get influence in Afghanistan as Tajiks are the most influential people of Afghanistan and they are largely involve in Bureaucracy and another factor that benefits pakistan in Afghanistan is that non-Pashtuns of are very much against pashtun nationalism in Afghanistan which could stop Pashtunistan type movements in both Pakistan and Afghanistan...Another importance of this card is that they have routes from Central Asian countries so they could bring Pakistan closer to central Asia as well....Afghanistan is a Land of opportunity for Pakistan only if Pakistan knows what card it should play and if one card dont work that doesnt means that no card left so instead of just sit and hit our heads try to find the solutions is the best policy...
