Peshawar: The USA has awarded 36 “sanitary vehicles” to the provincial government to provide better sanitation facilities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Donald Bloom, the US ambassador to Pakistan, handed over the vehicles to the provincial health department at a ceremony for the delivery of the health vehicles.
Donald Bloom said the US government is proud to offer vehicles through the US Agency for International Development, which are better equipped to deliver accurate and timely information to remote sites and keep health officials informed.
The US ambassador said we are proud of the support the US government has given to improving the lives of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and this is the latest example of our more than seven decades of partnership with the government of Pakistan.
Donald Bloom said the United States has donated more than 61 million doses of life-saving vaccines to the people of Pakistan during the COVID-19 outbreak. Last week, at the opening of the US-Pakistan Health Dialogue in Washington, DC, the US announced a reciprocal agreement to donate 16 million pediatric doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
The ceremony was also attended by USAID Mission Director Reed Ashelman and US Consul General Richard H. Riley
If your argument is that giving "health vehicles" is humanitarian cause and nothing wrong with that, then you'll have to apply same arguments for everything else that US does as well. Apparent humanitarian postures are ways to pursue their actual political o self interests.
