Twitter is a social media, if what Cheema did was gutteral, then MOST use of twitter and facebook is gutteral as it holds no status, social media is not your official media.

NOW coming back to the specific tweet, that just raised Cheema's stature in my eyes. He used social media about something he knew and was sure of, but just threw a feeler.

And guess what came out, the true story and the criminal crying foul.

Take IK out of the picture and how he handled it. Even with little knowledge of the behind-the-scene facts related to this issue and how IK reacted to it lets just concentrate on what this guy did.

Do you think that what umar cheema did with that tweet was not gutteral(just a made up word) journalism?
By any standard what he did was not just unethical and unprofessional it was sheer lunacy.

As far as I am concerned to say that he dwells in the gutter is elevating his status.

Cheema had been extolling the virtues of being a journalist and journalists' position and responsibilities in the society.

I am sure if IK or NS would start tweeting similar things then what would you say about them? This is slander and nothing else!

It would help if you read Umar Cheema's article on this issue. His story filed by him on this issue was not deemed worthy by his own editor to be published in the newspaper. In a way he is himself admitting that his story didn't meet the journalistic criteria in the eyes of his editor and here you are in awe of his journalistic( read scheming) capabilities :-)

I am not ignoring anything. I can understand why you are giddy about this whole even though there is nothing awesome about it as I see it.
I don't get excited about tabloid headlines even if they are true because they are just garbage unless talked about in an intelligent and decent way on how they impact the general public or if a crime is committed.

You are taking too much of a sadistic pleasure in IK's supposed misery in regards to this whole issue some of which was brought upon by himself.

I am making the point that there is nothing awesome about a journalist resorting to social media because he was jilted as his piece was rejected by his editor. Again, it would have helped if you had read umar cheema's article on this issue. There were at least 3-4 places on the internet that this allegedly was attributed to IK with even naming or rather identifying the girl involved. So there was not a net cast by umar and it was certainly not very professional and ethical especially if he did what you thought he did.
