His entry, with sudden cash flowing in from nowhere, huge banners going up all over Karachi, and him sitting in front of his own picture, is reminiscent of the IJI in the early 90s. Even thoguh Nawaz Sharif had been in the picture for years, thanks to Gen. Zia and Gen Gillani, but he still needed a major boost against Benazir, so he was propped up by the ISI, flushed with cash, and promoted shamelessly across the board in order to ekk out a desperate win against a woman.

This time, Mustafa Kamal has been tasked with splitting MQM down the middle. Not in a million years would JI and PTI followers go for him. MK is equally culpable for bhatta khori and target killings during the noughties, while he was mayor. I used to live in defence, and his goons use to go door to door to collect parchis. Ive signed over a couple myself. So cannot forget this thug.

At best, Mustafa Kamal will steal about 5 seats from MQM, and Karachi situation will be split 3 or 4 way. Sadly for Mustafa Kamal, he will be limited to specific parts of Karachi, ntohing more.

i think in next election, whenever it will be - Mustafa Kamal's small party will join PTI and maybe win few seats
JI will continue to be out and MQM will continue to dominate Karachi

the trend in Pakistan today is that no supporter of any party can hear anything against it, even if it is true
blind faith and support prevails

sindhi sees nothing wrong in zardari/bhutto, punjabis prefer Sharif Brothers over IK and don't see anything wrong with them, same with people of Karachi as to them Altaf is angel and vote is his be default. pathans love IK currently but we don't know how they will reach in 2018 either
