This is best approch to virus like covid 19. It will stay for long and you cannot shut country for long time period with fear. People should have awareness to how to protect themselves creating fear will low immune system and virus would be more dangerous. Don't waste money on testing if someone have 2 or more symptoms should isolated himself for 2 weeks.

I am a medic -nhs but not an exper on corona as such- my feelings are this is not a wrong approach either to allow limited freedom.
The fact is its difficult to contain a virus that spreads through air. its bound to fall on a surface, unfortunately COV19 stays alive for longer and hence it will have to spread to 80% minimum of the whole world population despite best efforts to avoid by any means including full lock down ( the only way to get the whole world fully cleaned would be absolute 100% lock down for 21 days of the entire world simultaneously to the extent that there is no human to human contact at all during those 3 wks)- well thats impossible- in which case there is no way to avoid it- so every govt in the world agrees it will have to spread to 80 % population but they want to make it gradual to avoid strain on their health system and resources. hence sweeden approach isnt totally wrong. bear in mind Pakistan hasn't got the capacity to tell us the exact figures of the infected population due to lack of testing with RT-PCR tests which are near accurate tests.

The death rate is way too high to persist with this approach.

Herd immunity means, 60% of your population get infected.

The death rate is way too high

agree deaths are more but on the other hand you can imagine how many are tested if the govt approach is to allow free roaming around- i would assume there are too many infected with out sxs (as > 80 % w cov19 +ve are sxs free) so no sxs no tests hence toatl cov+ve numbers are low

Sweden is looking at around half a million deaths at this rate

nopppp.

let me rephrase, many of Swedish people possibly has COV19 but has no symptoms hence are not offered tests.
the number of deaths they have so far could be out of 500000 cov +ve people. no one could tell until all population has test- it would be ideal to have a blood spot test to get us results in 10 mins and tell if someone has a current infection or has had a recent infection and has already recovered.

BUT the bottom line is this.
so far the data collected and analysed shows 85% will have cov19 with out knowing,
5 percent become unwell and needs hospital - if THATS The case then why lock down everything- i cant understand

When you are assuming things, that way of doing things is just way too risky and dangerous. I hope their route turns out to be right

In country like Pakistan with current resources it is literally impossible to test everyone with symptoms country like UK not doing this they simply saying to young people to quarentine themselves. Luckily people in 3rd word countries death rate is very low compared to their population mainly because most of people with underlying health conditions don't survive here due to lack of resources and majority of people dying with this virus are old and have underlying health conditions

They have the right approach....they would rather save their economy than shut the entire economy down meanwhile the clowns in charge here decided on following the herd knowing full well we are not a developed economy who can sustain a complete lockdown....causing a loss of 20 billion dollars and now running to the IMF to rechedule debt of 26 billion

Swedish approuch can not be implemented in Pakistan , there is a big difference in culture and awareness , even Swedes are not under lockdown but they do not hug or handshake , they keep the distance even standing in line , i observed it everywhere but we are totally opposite in Pakistan , we cant avoid hugging by culture when we meet each other friends and families, this is a small example ,
Swedish hospitals are not providing any tests if u have mild to no symtoms , they advise u to be in isolation for next 14 days and people follows it , can it be implemented in the same way in Pakistan ?, no way at all ,
There are many other factors i.e family bonds are not strong in Sweden as in Pakisan so less gatherings , with less to mild symtoms u can stay home for couple of months with 110% salary instead of normal salary so this motivate people to stay at home than infecting others ,

Pakistani culture invites spread of diseases with the hand shaking and hugging. Also look at the hygiene in food outlets and other shops. You get a drink of water from a cooler and chances are the glass has passed the lips of dozens of people before you.
Another very dirty habit they have is spitting all over the place. No western country has this kind of practice.

Keep in mind, Sweden has the best health care system in the world. Whatever approach they take may not apply to other countries even in Europe.

The death rates right now are not very reliable. Every country has different testing rates so we do not know the true number of cases.
