KARACHI: The militants who attacked Mehran Base on May 22 belonged to Mehsud Group, Thursday revealed the widow of Qari Shahid, commander of banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Punjabi group.

Making revelations during interrogations, Sabiha, the widow of Qari Shahid, chief of Punjab Taliban Karachi who was killed during a police encounter in Korangi area of Allah Wala Town on December 5, said Qari Shahid took her to the PAF Museum prior to the attack.

Qari Shahid was involved in the attack on residence of SSP Chaudhry Aslam, she said adding she had a row with her husband over the killing of a small child in the attack.

According to police sources, Qari Shahid formed the Tehreek-e-Taliban Punjabi Group after Lal Mosque incident. Also, the group os involved in abduction of son of former Punjab governor Salman Taseer.

According to SSP Anti Violent Crime Cell Ghulam Subhani, the group is involved in attacks on CID building and shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi.

Sabiha said she prepared the meal for three terrorists who assailed CID building, adding the money accrued from bank robberies and kidnapping for ransom was used in terror activities.

According to the widow, Qari Shahid’s aides include Mullah Haroon, Mullah Omar, Hafeezullah, Aazib, Qazi Jahangir, senior journalist of a newspaper, Mauta Bhai, Sohail alias Aslam Bhai, Ali and Bashir Mamoon. SAMAA

These were all our people who went on in mehran base or targeted ghq. We cannot keep our eyes closed. This nation needs to know the truth no matter how cruel it is. Islam teaches tolerance and i dont know what kind of animals these people are who consider them self as mullah. They are worst then animals.
