PEOPLE WERE INJURED WHILE OFFERING PRAYER IN A MOSQUE IN PALOSAI, VICINITY AREA OF HAYATABAD WHEN THE ROOF OF THE MOSQUE COLLAPSED DUE TO DUST STORM AND HEAVY RAINFALL IN THE CITY LAST NIGHT.[/h]The KKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Health, Shahram Khan Tarakai paid a surprise visit to Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) Peshawar last night and ordered immediate suspension of Deputy Medical Superintendent on negligence towards his duties.
According to details some people were injured while offering prayer in a mosque in Palosai, vicinity area of Hayatabad when the roof of the mosque collapsed due to dust storm and heavy rainfall in the city last night. The injured people were brought to HMC for treatment and one of them in serious condition succumbed to injuries as there was no doctor on duty in the Casualty of the hospital to provide him proper treatment.
On this relatives of the deceased made protest in the hospital and resorted to riot. Soon after coming to know about all this the health minister rushed to the hospital while driving himself. He immediately called the Chief Executive and the Medical Superintendent of HMC to the hospital.
When it was ascertained that there was negligence on the part of Deputy Medical superintendent of the Casualty, Dr. Humayun, ordered his immediate suspension and directed the hospital management to thoroughly look into the matter and submit a report as soon as possible.
The senior minister assured the relatives of the deceased that a thorough inquiry would be conducted into the matter and stern action would be taken against all those responsible for the mishap.
Health Minister had already suspended Senior Registrar and Medical Officer on absence from duty in Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) two days back. Then there was a clear warning by minister "Any negligence medical practicing licenses of doctors will be cancelled instead of suspension".-Source: KPKNews.org
