Freedom of expression is mostly emphasized in social and well educated cultures of civil society but all ‘tangible ‘subjects and issues have become a ‘Taboo’. Print and electronic media previously claimed of being ‘shackled’ is now without any direction or sense of responsibility. Journalism was thought as noblest among other accredited ‘professions’ whereas, myriad private TV-Channels in Pakistan are after “sensational” issues to attract majority of viewers to get more and more share of ‘advertisement’ business. Nothing wrong in this practice but check and balances has equally become most important. Mostly noticeable “Anchorpersons” on these channels are well groomed but either had an own agenda or are towing along the chain of “laid down parameters” by the owners and sponsors of these mushroomed TV-Channels. One mustn’t get partial when an issue is either sensitive or had become controversial. Benefits of freedom & expression are not being challenged but it has become most essential to provide a guide-line to them WHO are now in this profession (Better call a trade) by default having no ideal as to which principled values were always guaranteed or being practiced. Anchors in hall of fame today are not among the best, qualified in “Mass Communications”. Without an ambiguity the first name that spring’s up in mind is that of Dr. Shahid Masood much recognized ‘Analyst’ of “Meray Mutabiq” with GEO Network. Dr. Shahid as prefix indicates is not a PhD but a surgeon doctor who got entrance in this field as a “religious scholar” before elevating to its present stature. Media reports and news on unethical practices and atrocities like “Gang Rape” are given much publicity which is totally wrong. Issue of “ Mukhtaran Mai” was so much highlighted that “SHE” become a symbol of human torture and victim. Today, this uneducated woman is not only running a NGO financed by foreign hands but is said to be awarded a PhD degree in Canada!
Without an iota of personal vendetta is it not a criminal negligence? We all are equally responsible for this tormenting growth in our social and cultural inheritance. Super Moderator as we desire to be addressed the challenging situation is on account of our collective negligence & inefficiency in curbing down such evils from our otherwise “Conservative” Islamic Culture! Isn’t another “Danger-Within”?

When asked “Meher Bokhari” doing “News Beat” with SAMA TV about 5th Columnists in the rank and file of our Journalist Community in print & electronic media she refrained to come forward with an earnest reply.
Though names like eminent Analyst Najam Sethi” is also reported to be among them but Meher Bokhari’s silence on this tangible subject is a cross mark on her as well as she too
becomes suspicious. Didn’t feel that we Pakistani’s are running short of TIME? It seems as if the Media is fully detrimental in creating “Hype” on various issues those could have been avoided amicably? Common men is getting distressed to such an extent that they may even stand up against their own Government eventually destroying all of our State Organs to destabilize Pakistan.
