Well, as described in the documentary, I am quite amazed to hear that Syria has discovered the world's largest gas reserves which are 10 times greater than that of Israel's. In recent years, we have already seen the power game between Russia and US on the Caspian oil reserves (of Kazakhstan) in Afghanistan war from 2001 onwards, where US started to extend out its bases from Kabul, to Dushanbe, then eventually they reached Manas (Kyrgyzstan), from where the Russian retaliation started. If anyone remember that there was also a sudden political unrest in the country , somewhat around 2 to 3 years ago, just like Egypt and Syria, however, the Russians managed to get over the US induced upheavals in the country. More than that, US had to remove its bases from Manas at the end (buht be aabro ho k tere koochay se hum niklay) had to call off the war from Afghanistan as well.
However, at mid east, US always had a good history at war (probably because over here there always is one Muslim country fighting against the other). But the alarming thing at Syria is its shared borders with Israel and the growing military might of Pakistan and Iran (who are united in their ideology against Israel). Russia and US may cut out a deal because they both know that any direct confrontation between these two can have colossal destruction for both of them. So, they will decide over the gas reserves that who is getting how much and off course US will not be in a good bargaining position with Russia over these gas reserves just because of its weakness-- Israel. Yet, US will no longer like to keep Israel as susceptible as it is now from the nuclear attack threats from Iran and Pakistan. So, when Syria is over, who is going to be next in line........???? Pakistan or Iran ?
