Should Punjab province be divided into more provinces?

Just read some information on Punjab province:

* According to an estimate in 2009 the population of Punjab province is 92,600,000.

* The population of Punjab province is 56% of the total population of Pakistan.

* There is no country in the world who has more population in its 1 province than all its other provinces combined except Pakistan?

* Population wise Punjab province is bigger than 211 countries out of 224 countries of the world. That means only 13 countries in the world have bigger population than Punjab province.

So do you guys think its a good idea to divide Punjab province into more provinces on administrative basis?

[In my opinion dividing Punjab province on ethnic basis will be a disaster and so its not an option at all as it will lead to breakup of the whole country.]

the sariakis have to have their own province simply for administrative reasons..make bahawalpur the capital...its just better for the local populace...however all this talk of new provinces means Pakistans enemies begin to lick their lips..and we all know who is good at exploiting these issues in pakistan..hint hint!

well good idea is to make ALL DIVISIONS (about 28-30) as PROVINCES.
we will achieve many things.

1. Devolution of power, and people will be more in control of their resources.

2. this will kill all languistic movements like sindhi, baluchi, punjabi and pathan.

Too much admin hassle...if you really wanna create any new provinces then maybe 'half' Punjab into 2 Provinces...no ethnic bull**** or anything like that.

Not only Punjab but rest of the provinces are way to big and way to hassle for common people.
Imagine a person from Turbat or Sadiq Abad or Sukkur or Dera Ismail Khan travelling to their respective capital for minor work. And dont forget common people can not afford airplanes or even trains in Pakistan, so that poor soul have to take leave, normally without pay, or abandon his small business (e.g. fruit or sabzi thela etc.) for couple of days, spend hundreds or thousands of rupees to get on the bus and get to an alien city to get his work done. He also need to find a hotel to stay and food to eat, all cost money.

In order to help that common person of Pakistan, we need to distribute power to more local level, creating more provinces will have more advantages.

Don't forget the British Formula: Divide and Conquer. International powers (especially India) want Pakistan being divided into several parts so that it can be easily separated. They just only want to breakup the federation.

Remember complete and united Pakistan is invincible. Once it's divided into provinces or sub-states the work to enemies will be very easy to process their heinous objectives. We need to understand that what is going on around us. We need to find our enemies. Don't forget administrative reasons are only an excuse but objectives are pretty wider.

It's as clear as day light that if the government is incapable to governing four provinces then how could they will be able to handle more provinces that would ultimately cause a havoc and mis-management (as usual). Politician will die more to become CM / Governor, and member of respective assemblies. The will problems will only grow not reduced. Just don't raise your voice for that. Those who are asking for more liberation and power are in fact working for international agenda to break Pakistan into pieces.

One of my brother (Nawazish) has written here devolution of power. Sir you're fully aware of the fact that what kind of power an ordinary person can have in Pakistan? This is a day dream not more than that. We need a very ruthless accountability and a revolution to bring ultimate solutions of the misery of ordinary people. We need life safe, secure and up to the mark not more independence. Al-Humdulillah, we are already independent but we are made slaves by our politicians. We need to get rid of these stupid politicians everything will be fine. Insha-Allah!

also tell me that how the new provinces will bear expenses of hundred new ministers etc .when already our country is on brinkl of economic collapse,why not seraiki ministers in present punjab assembly spend any of their provided funds on their poor areas,the number of seraiki ministers has always have been more in number in punjab assembly than any other area of punjab ,still seariki area like other areas of punjab is poor ,it is because seraiki misnisters loot the funds provided to them and spend them to buy castles in lahore islamabad and london,when seraiki province may be craeted the same ministers will again be their rulers and keep on sucking the blood of poor.infact after creation of seraiki province situation of poor seraikis will become even worse.cant they see?now they blackmail punjab govt that provide more funds to us than is our right or we will demand new province so every govt spends a lot of funds on that area,but with new province they will have no one to blackmail plus as these people will surely vote for same present sraiki ministers who are already looting them so situation will get worse

Well under Khulafa-e-rashideen there were provinces, they created more administrative units and appointed governers to act as representatives of Khaleefa.

I guess Khulafa didnt know Islam nauzo billah and our great scholars of this forum know Islam more then them.

even before creation of seraiki province that includes bahawalpur area, the bahwalpur people are now demanding new province in this new seraiki province named bahawalpur province!!!!!!!!

so you can imagine what will happen after creation of new provinces,every one kanal home will demand that it be made new province as it cant live with its neighbours!!!!and after creating every house as new province than each house people will soon demand that every room be made new province!

these hatreds and prejudices are never ending,,,creating further divisions in this country is not the answer!the answer is to make honest people as our leaders who do justice and do not loot the resources of their area people...and the best solution is to islamise our society,when islam comes into a society all prejudices die and even a black former slave and a master live without prejudices with each other and in an sialmic society resources are distributed justly....creating new provinces in our secular anti islam system of present era will create ten times more prejudices and will result in weakening this country further into many new divisions and their is high probability of 1971 like further breaking of pakistan

you child brain man! the khulfa rashideen did jihad continuously !the jihad which you leftists hate.they conquered many new countries that were full ,whole, solid countries before they were conquered !they conquered iran, iraq, yemen etc and they all ceded and joined these countries into and under one islamic khilafat,being ruled from arab .each new country conquered through jihad was made a unit goverened by representatives of khalifa of islam sitting in arab ,even in case of iran etc the khalifa did not appoint irani etc governors but they appointed arab governors who worked as representatives of caliphs of muslims.

in hazrat umers period only pious representatives of khalifa went to those areas that were conquered

Break this setup and every major city will demand to become a province.
People in Karachi may even demand two / three separate provinces
so we might see PPP Karachi MQM Karachi and Pashtun Karachi

How many times Punjab has to be divided. East Punjab, West Punjab, Haryana, ..........Remember Punjab was from Kabul to Dehli. Now what ever is left could not be further divided.

well i believe that not only punjab should be divided but i suggest that i am agree with you ussi1 about 28-30 provinces it should be for whole pakistan divide all four existing provinces in to 28 to 30 provinces but as are saying no ethinic bulshits
