Ousted prime minister, Nawaz Sharif has reportedly expressed anger over the failure of his brother Shehbaz Sharif for not reaching Lahore airport despite a thorough strategy to lead the rally of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supporters.
Sources said that the ousted PM Nawaz was surprised, and said he knows on whose wishes Shehbaz changed the plan. He said that if PML-N’s workers were obstructed, Shehbaz and the main leadership could have reached the airport but they failed to do so for which he was very disappointed.
Maryam Nawaz was also unhappy over the lapse on the part of the party leadership. According to a senior leader of PML-N, the arrival of Nawaz at Lahore was planned under his directive. It was also a part of the plan that Nawaz would address party workers at airport before surrendering to the authorities, so that PML-N may succeed in giving an impression of powerful public show.
According to the strategy Shehbaz came out in Lahore after Friday prayers where the rallies from other cities had gathered for six long hours and failed to reach at airport.
Nawaz was continuously in contact with Shehbaz and had been constantly inquiring about the rally. Shehbaz had been apprising Nawaz of the present position and assuring him to be at the airport before landing of his flight.
But, when the plane landed Nawaz again inquired about the rally but he was told that the rally couldn’t get there. Nawaz was very disappointed and reluctantly decided to get down of the plane and surrender before authorities. Thus, his plan to address public rally before being arrested dashed to the ground.
