Islamabad, Aug.23 - ANI: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif is like a brother to him.
Reacting to Sharifs statement that he was heart-broken by his (Gilanis) decision to distance the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) from former President General Pervez Musharrafs trial, Gilani said he would soon contact the former Prime Minister to address all his grievances.
He had a lot of expectations from me, which is why his heart is broken, Gilani said.
Gilani, however, refused to comment on his statement regarding Musharrafs trial.
Talking to media persons after visiting the Ports and Shipping Ministry, Gilani said the government would soon put forward a bill in the National Assembly to make the process of accountability transparent in accordance with the Charter of Democracy (CoD).
Gilani said National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had become a powerless organization, so the government wanted to introduce a new system of accountability in the country.
When enquired about the National Assemblys Committee on Balochistan, Gilani said he was satisfied with the committees work.
After discussion with all the stakeholders, the committee would decide to announce the report either in a jirga in presence of the cabinet or in parliament, The Daily Times quoted Gilani, as saying.
When asked about the local government system, Gilani said: We are not against the LG system but it will stand dissolved in October this year.
