It is a complex thing that you and Zoyaa r discussing. It all varies from parent to parents and individual to individual. You are right , sometime our own choice in marriage failed badly. Sometime our parents choice works. it all depends upon the understanding between two.
There is one more side, when things go against someone's will. Like a girl/boy is committed to someone and their parents forced em to marry someone else. Then situation is really drastic. its hard for an individual to accept a change, but somehow they need to compromise.

Now, situation is changing in Pakistan as well. Parents are more concerned about their children's wish. Your last line is very true .:)

You are absolutely right, the subject of love and marriage (arranged or love) is very complex, I personally feel that my opinion is very weak mainly because I have never been in those shoes. One more point that I missed in my last post is that grooming of individuals play a very important role too, now a days the priorities are set on high living standards rather than teaching them moral values, honesty and good character leading to a very high divorce rate, be it arranged or love marriage. :)

So you are still learnin from others experience. Dont worry , i think shoes turn to be more comfortable after sometime if they are good quality. Lets see how our experience will go.
Ultimately its coming on parents. They should brought their children in a way that will help them in future. Because parent are the first school learning and the most effective one.
Unfortunately in our Pakistani culture. I see parent are more materialistic and sometime their children as well. Cheating and abusing in relationship is a normal practise. So its no more cheating there.
