People seem to be clueless about what qualifies as 'ownership' of a corporate entity. Media and PMLN are leading people to think that the CEO of a company is the 'owner', since he is the highest placed executive of the company..
Here is how it works.

CEO is not the owner of a company. He may be given some shares as performance incentive, but he does not hold a lot of shares.

Directors in a private unlisted company are generally those who hold majority of the shares, and hence, ownership of the company. Being a director allows a majority shareholder to be a part of the decision making process, regarding salaries, purchases, sales, routes, etc.

Khaqan Abbasi has merely resigned from the directorship of the company. He has not ceased to be a major shareholder of the company. He still holds a vast number of shares.

That basically means that his financial interest is still tied to Airblue, and being a major shareholder, he still wields significant amount of influence over the board of directors. Let him sell off his shares, and then we will see true independence.

Generals, who took the power by force, were usurpers not public representatives. They violated constitution and could do unlawful things. Whereas, the PM is elected representative of Parliament, a Government Servant, who has to abide by Services Rules.
