You people will always take refuge in this kind of BS. But the fact is that we declined in every sector during those 3 years. The country's debt shot up by 38 billion dollars. In spite of capturing the markets of India and Bangladesh, the trade deficit was 42 billion dollars. We were on the verge of ultimate collapse with 80 billion dollars in damage.

I'm sure it would be worse than the 2022 data.

The economy is in recession, with all key sectors' growth contracted: 1.7% growth posted in 2Q, powered by agriculture and small-scale manufacturing. How in the world did major crop production decline by 7.7%, but livestock always grew by 6.5%? Similarly, the LSM is continuously posting negative growth, but small-scale and allied industries posted growth. Similarly, the biggest variable in the services sector, retail & wholesale, also contracted. The services sector posted paltry growth due to 10% growth in Finance (thanks to record banking profits due to ultra-high interest rates). Key crop production declined by 7.7% in the second quarter, with cotton output falling by nearly 31% to 7.1 million bales, a reduction of 3.1 million bales. Rice production declined by 1.4% to 9.7 million tonnes, maize output fell by 15.4%, and sugarcane production decreased by 2.3% to 85.6 million tonnes. Minor crop output showed minimal growth of 0.7%. With huge red in the commodity producing sector, the economy is no doubt in recession. While govt is never short of praising its own shameful performance. This is the record consecutive third year when the economy is growing under 2%.
