Sorry about the delay. I was busy elsewhere. Anyways, heres what you asked for.

For Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) this Holy month was a time of hard work and endeavor, even though all His life was hard work and endeavour. Islam is in long line of Prophetic Tradition. Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) said You can tell the stories and quotes from people of previous dispensation without any blame. From Isiah Chapter 58, Verse 6-7, Is not this the fast that I choose to loosen the bonds of injustice, to undo the thongs of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, it is to break every yoke, is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless, hungry and poor into your house. When you see the naked to cover them and not to hide yourself from your own kin.

This passage is re-iterated in our own tradition when the Prophet (P.B.U.H) said On the day of Judgement ALLAH will say, I was hungry and you didnt feed ME and the people will say, how can we feed YOU, YOU are the Lord of the World and ALLAH Subhanauwataalah will say, didnt you know that MY servant so and so was hungry and had you gone and fed him you would have found ME with him. This is one of the central aspects with fasting, to show solidarity with the less fortunate, people that are hungry. There are people all over the world that literally do not have food to fill their bellies and fasting is a time when we are reminded of the pangs of hunger. For us who are fasting it is a voluntary exercise, but for the poor it is something they have to go through in everyday of their lives, so fasting is a month when we are reminded of what the less-fortunate have to go through and help/feed them.
One of the things we are witnessing right now, is a collapse of Western Capitalism, this economic system is based on greed, its based on the idea that every man for himself and its falling apart. Ramadan is a time of immense transformation, its a time when we can re-assess our lives, re-prioritize looking at the important things in our lives and one of the most important thing is What are we doing here?. The Holy Quran asks us this question, Where then are you going?. This is a question we all have to ask ourselves, where are we going as individuals, family and a society. Our society is in a state of crisis but a lot of this crisis is a direct result of misguided priorities, of people that put everything in for themselves and forgot about the others. When you begin to give up self-interests and think of the common wheel, ALLAH will take care of your self-interests. But when you focus on your self-interests and forget the common wheel, ALLAH will cause you to even forget your own self-interests. ALLAH says in the Holy Quran They Forgot ALLAH, so ALLAH caused them to forget themselves. In other words, their prioritize were all wrong.

When ALLAH is in the center of your priority in life, you are in the center of ALLAH Subhanauwataalahs providential care, but when you displace GOD and put substitutes for GOD, in place of GOD, then you fall on the wrong of the centrality of HIS providential care and this is why ALLAH promise, If you help ALLAH, ALLAH will help you. When Jesus (The Son of Marry) said, who are my helpers, who are the helpers of GOD, the disciples said we are the helpers of GOD, so a group of people from Bani-Israel believed in what Prophet Jesus was saying. Skeptics ask Where is GOD, how can HE allow all of this suffering in the world, but the real question is not where is GOD, its where are the helpers of GOD, where are the people of GOD, people that have the resources, that have the will power, that have the experience and the ability to transform the world and to be literally like the Ansaar, thats the question, its not where is GOD, GOD has always been there, the question is where are we, because just as we can ask where is GOD? GOD has the all the right to ask where are you?, and thats really what this month is about, its about asking where is your heart? Is your heart with ALLAH? Is your heart with your own Ego? Is your heart with your Lust, Passion, with your Greed, with your Pride, with your Envy? Is it with your resentment? Is it with your desire for revenge? Thats the question this month is asking us, Where is your Heart?.

This time that we have been given, a few days for reflection, this is a time when you can actually go into yourself, and dig into your self and ask yourself whether your heart is with ALLAH or not? Like Sayidina Ali (R.A) said, A man lies hidden under his tongue, because the tongue expresses whats inside their heart. Whoever loves a thing, does much remembrance of it. If you Love ALLAH, HE will be on your tongue, if you love the world, the world will be on your tongue, thats the question. This is a time to return to ALLAH, to give your heart back to the one WHO possesses your heart. ALLAH is the possessor of the hearts, the hearts are between the Hands of the Rahman. ALLAH Subhanauwataalah has placed the hearts in HIS providential care, so we have to give our hearts back to ALLAH to restore the centrality of ALLAH in our lives. Thats the blessing of Ramadan, these are few days, that will pass quickly, my advice to myself and to all of you, take advantage of these days, these are beautiful and incredible days. These are days of longing, days of night calling, days of Quranic recitations. This is a time to get close to ALLAH. ALLAH is near to us than our carotid arteries, closer than our own consciousness and this is a time when we can become more and more aware of that, of the nearness of ALLAH. Look at your life, what are you doing in your life, what are your priorities in your life? Ask yourself these questions. Where is my heart? Because the heart's rightful place is with ALLAH Subhanauwataalah.

ALLAH Subhanauwataalah says in the Holy Quran, Dont they reflect on this book or are their hearts sealed, in other words, locks upon their hearts and thats why this month is so important, its a time of reflecting on the Book of Guidance. The key to opening your heart is turning to ALLAH Subhanauwataalah, HE is the one who opens the heart. Only HE is the one WHO allows the light of divine message to come into your heart, to flood your heart and to give the gifts and blessings that come with Faith (Imaan) in ALLAH Subhanauwataalah. Let the cynics scoff, let all the skeptics have their doubts, on the day of Judgement, everything becomes clear, thats what we believe in and all this is preparation for that day. May ALLAH Subhanauwataalah give all of us a blessed Ramadan, a Ramadan of lights, openings, the sweetness of book of ALLAH on our tongues. May ALLAH Subhanauwataalah open up the meanings of Quran for us. May we remember the poor, the needy and less-fortunate and May ALLAH Subhanauwataalah give us the seal of the last words that we say in this world, I bear witness that there is no GOD besides ALLAH and I bear witness that Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) is HIS servant and Messenger. May ALLAH Subhanauwataalah guide us all to the right path (Ameen). :)

دراصل یہ پیٹ کی بھوک نہیں آنکھوں کی بھوک ہے، جو ختم ہونے کا نام ہی نہیں لیتی..... ایک نہ ایک دن یہ بھوک بھی ختم ہو جائے گی، جب اس دنیا سے چل بسیں گے، اور پھر دنیا میں کمائی کا حساب بھی دینا پڑے گا، کہیں ایسا نہ ہو کہ روز قیامت یہ پیٹ ہی جہنم کی آگ کا ایندھن نہ بن جائے.... الله پاک ہم سب پر اپنا فضل فرمائے اور ہمیں غریبوں اور مسکینوں کی مدد کرنے کی توفیق عطا فرمائے

دنیا سے جانے کے بعد تو زبردستی بھوک کا خاتمہ ہو گا ..سوچ کر ڈر لگتا ہے کہ ہم اپنے اکیلے کے حساب سے ڈرتے ہیں اور یہ حکمران تو اپنی پوری ` رعایا ` کا دیں گے ..کیسے دیں گے ؟..جب پلٹ کر اس دنیا میں آ کر اپنی غلطیاں سدھارنے کے مواقع بھی ختم ....ان کے لئے صرف ہدایت کی دعا ہی کی جا سکتی ہے

جی تو اکثریت گفتار کی غازی ہے، عملی میدان سے تو بھاگتے ہیں، اور یہ حقیقت ہے.... اسی لئے کہا کہ ایک نہ ایک دن یہ آنکھوں کی بھوک بھیختم ہوجائے گی اور وہ دن موت کا ہی ہوگا.... رہی بات حکمرانوں کی تو جیسی عوام ہے، ویسے ہی حکمران ہے..... چور بازاری ہر طرف سرگرم ہے


البتہ اگر کوئی سنجیدگی سے غریبوں اور مسکینوں کی مدد کرنا چاہتا ہے تو اس کا نسخہ بھی موجود ہے، لیکن اس کیلئے محنت لازم ہے، اور جب تک انسان اپنی ذات کو ختم کر کے دوسروں کا نہیں سوچے گا، تب تک کامیابی نہیں ملے گی، 'میں' کو مارنا پڑے گا، اپنے 'کمفرٹ زون' سے نکلنا پڑے گا..... دراصل جب سوچ یہ ہو ہے کہ جو کچھ میں نے کمایا ہے وہ صرف اور صرف میری اپنی محنت کا نتیجہ ہے تو انسان خود غرضی کی راہ پر چل پڑتا ہے، البتہ ایک ایسا شخص جس میں 'خوف خدا' ہو وہ اپنی محنت کو نہیں گردانتا، بلکہ جو کچھ بھی کماتا ہے اسے الله کا فضل سمجھتا ہے اور ساتھ ہی ساتھ یہ بھی جانتا ہے کہ یہ مال اس ذات کی امانت ہے اور غریبوں اور مسکینوں کی مدد اس پر فرض ہے، یہ مال و دولت تو الله کا فضل ہے آج کسی کے پاس تو کل کسی کے پاس، دائمی کچھ نہیں، صرف ہمارے اعمال ہیں.... جن سے ہم غافل ہیں..... الله پاک ہم سب کو ہدایت کی بے مثال نعمت سے نوازے
