RIYADH; Saudi Arabia plans to be producing nuclear power within 10 years, a senior US trade official said here Monday.
They want to have civil nuclear power as a part of their mix relatively soon, said Under Secretary of Commerce Francisco Sanchez, after meetings with Saudi officials.
The worlds largest supplier of oil wants to have nuclear power within the next 10 years, he told journalists.
Riyadh has begun to move toward nuclear power to replace burning valuable oil and natural gas in power plants.
The country signed a cooperation agreement on civil nuclear technology with the United States in 2008, and has held talks with France and Russia in the past year on similar agreements.
In April the country announced it would build the research-and-development focused King Abdullah City for Nuclear and Renewable Energies to underpin its move to diversify energy use away from fossil fuels.
Sanchez was in Riyadh leading a delegation of US businessmen in the infrastructure and energy sectors to meet Saudi counterparts.
He said Saudi Arabias planned spending of some 500-700 billion dollars on infrastructure over 2009-2014 made it an important target for US businesses, especially in the alternative energy sector. AFP

Very easily, buy the oil, dont pay the hard cash, instead, making sure it is either deposited in your own banks or invested in the real estate or other business in the USA. Which in turn only help the USA economy by keeping the funds available for lending by the banks and re-growth of the economy.

Remember one thing, no money actually change hands, just an electronic transfer of figures from one bank account to another. And what are dollars any way? A Promissory note, written on paper, not backed up by any hard currency or precious metals. When it collapses, the only use of the dollars will be in the toilet. In exchange of these Promissory notes, USA get the oil, a hard currency, which fuels their economy literally, creating jobs and wealth, which again keep the Cycle Charkha running, round and round.

Recently, the USA twisted the arms of the Saudis and UAE Sheikhs to donate over $500bns to the World Bank and the IMF for bail outs. You will see how quickly, the Saudis and UAE Sheikhs would be demonised if they ever try to withdraw their cash and investments from the USA. Hillary, already said, Saudis are the financers of the terror in the world. You dont have to be an Einstein to figure out how quickly the law will be enacted for the support of terrorism charges and confiscate all the money owned by the Saudis and Sheikhs.

They have absolutely no chance or brains. This is what happens when you make others god beside Allah SWT. There are enough warnings in the Holy Quran against it. Plus the famous verse, decreeing, Christians and Jews can never be the friends of Muslims and Islam. The decrees of the Holy Quran are cast in stones, not a Word of the Holy Quran is without the Wisdom and the Fact. Let them try to befriends the Americans the decree of the Holy Quran is and will remain valid until the Day of the judgment. The losers will learn the hard lessons sooner or later.

Let me assure you, it will never come to that, the Saudis know, America will not help them to build the weapons, what they want is to have the technology and training for their people.

For the weapons, they will turn to Pakistan. There had been rumours that some of Pakistani nukes are already stored in Saudi, for emergency if it ever arises. I cant say it is true or not. But one thing is sure; it is hell of a lot easier to get the knowledge and technology from Pakistan, once they climb the nuclear ladder.

Only true for the ruling elites of Pakistan, if it was down to them they would have formally requested America to make Pakistan it's state. But as much as people are concerned then no shortage of courageous and brave people. If this was not the case, Pakistan would have been sold down the river long time ago by its corrupt ruling elites.
