There is a big difference between NALA and your example.
Surroundings of these NALA has encroached. If these encroachment belongs to MQM supporters, it wouldn't be a problem.
But, this encroachments belong to different ethnic group. It is not as simple as you are thinking. Political parties has made this issue political one. But, this rain has given the chance to raise this issue.

Signal free corridor is in the making in a few weeks. About 1300 MQM supporters house demolished by CDGK in making this project. These people have been living here before Pakistan. Not a single stone was thrown. But, when it comes to other ethnic group, the problem has become political.

Clarification from the website referred to as a claim for Top Mayor Lisiting:
