So the bafoon is trying to sound intelligent. Depending on which plate, earthquakes can also arise from sliding between two techtonic plates, moving apart and not just exclusively from colliding. We don't sit on the plate boundary, however we know the mechanism but cannot predict it's activity.

FW is still behaving like an Information Minister. For Nation to stand on it's feet, it needs food security, water security and energy security. I suggest stop this 'bak-bak' and concentrate on the task in hand. Start looking into renewable energy, clean water technology and upgrading our universities with outside affiliation and more importantly close collaboration between Industry and academia.

I've studied Geology. It is blatantly obvious that you have no clue how magma convection currents work or else you wouldn't made the above statement. I've seen your posts and pretty much predictable; Mulla-this and Mulla-that.

You must be well aware that mountains are formed by the movement and collision of tectonic plates, not by Allah placing them as pegs in the ground.

The same friction between tectonic plates causes earthquakes. Look at the US Geological Survey and see where the Earthquakes take place, they take place mostly in mountain range areas.

The whole Earth landmass is floating on magma, similar to ice on water. It is referring mountains as anchors.

The Crust which mountains are part of only goes 30-50km deep.

The liquid magma part is the outer core. And this layer starts 2890 km deep.

The solid part which you want to anchor to is the Inner core which starts at 5150km.

So using mountains to anchor the earth is like using a tooth pick to anchor the titanic in the Mariana trench. And the toothpick doesn't start from the bottom of the ship but from the top of the ship.

No. The bottom/root of the mountain is also part of the crust that floats on the mantle.

Focusing in the wrong area as they don't influence the mantle flow or impact on viscous drag. However, mountains dampen ground vibration by scattering the wave generated by nearby quake.
