Dr Qadri's march achieved good results in that it showed the world that Muslims (Pakistanis) are not essentially indisciplined and intolerant. Under efficient leadership and good administration they can also behave like civilised people. However the march totally failed in achieving any clear cut electoral reform objective. Implementation of article 62 and 63 is the most vague, intangible and hypothetical demand and virtually impossible to be effected in letter and spirit any more that what it's already existing provisions are. No mention about compulsory voting, run off elections, proportionate representation etc, which are solid reforms, were made by him. PTI can push for these reforms before elections and re-arrest the attention of the masses which Qadri successfully diverted towards himself, by his bold and audacious initiative.
