i dont think what fawad said something wrong. he is simply saying that new chief is Jatt. dont see anything bad in it. i think we should not just abuse someone just because we dont support their party.

Not really, but it gives you sort of bragging rights. British had some of their favorite tribes and would give prestigious jobs to them only. It is sort of continuing but has since considerably been diluted.

LOL even Bajwa's father in law was a Gernal who served in the British army.

Why are you making monkey faces. If you think British were doing all the things right, why did it take Jatts, the largest population tribes of Punjab, so long to get to the top.

Jaats were part of the political ruling class of Punjab during the British era. British army was always headed by a British, nothing to do with any desi race. Go read history again. Having said that I have nothing against any race.

Yes, the top jobs were with the British but they promoted the next line of desis from their loyalists. British remembered that Jatts were in Power before them in Punjab under Ranjit Singh, so they did not think it was in their interest to appoint Jatts to eminent places of power. They controlled majority population through their loyalist minority tribes by favoring them in Govt jobs.

Huh ?

Malik Khizar Hayat's father was Major General Sir Malik Umar Hayat Khan Tiwana(1875–1944) acted as honorary aide-de-camp to George V and George VI and served as a member of the Council of the Secretary of State for India, 1924-1934. He belongs to the Tiwana Jaat clan.

Tiwana assisted his father in the management of the family estates in the Punjab, taking responsibility for them while his father was in London, 1929-1934. Promoted to honorary majoron 17 April 1936, he was elected to the Punjab Legislative Assembly in 1937 and immediately joined the cabinet of Sir Sikandar Hayat Khan, who had successfully led the Unionist Muslim League in the election, as Minister of Public Works. Tiwana remained in this post until 1942, succeeding Sir Sikander as Prime Minister of the Punjab from 1942 until 1947. He was promoted to honorary lieutenant-colonel on 12 January 1943. Appointed a Knight Commander of the Order of the Star of India (KCSI) in the 1946 King's Birthday Honors,[SUP][6][/SUP] he was a member of the Indian delegation to the Paris Peace Conference in 1946.

Jaat regiment during its service of over 200 years, the regiment has participated in various actions and operations both in the pre- and post-independence India and abroad, including
the First and the Second World Wars. Numerous battalions of the Jat Regiment fought in the First World War including the 14th Murray's Jatt Lancers

The Regiment claims its origins from the
Calcutta Native Militia raised in 1795,[SUP][5][/SUP] which later became an infantry battalion of the Bengal Army. The 14th Murray's Jat Lancers were formed in 1857.[SUP][5][/SUP]After 1860, there was a substantial increase in the recruitment of Jats in the British Indian Army, however the Class Regiment, The Jats, was initially created as infantry units in 1897 from old battalions of the Bengal Army. In January 1922, at the time of the grouping of the Class Regiments of the Indian Army, the 9th Jat Regiment was formed by bringing under a single regiment, four active and one training battalion. The British colonists were impressed by the martial qualities of the Jats that they soon started recruiting them in ever-increasing numbers into all branches of the Bengal Army. The 1st Battalion was raised as the 22nd Bengal Native Infantry in 1803.
