PESHAWAR: Vice-Chancellor of the Islamia College University Peshawar, Professor Ajmal Khan, formally took charge of his office on Tuesday, four years after being in Taliban captivity, Samaa reported.
Prof. Ajmal was abducted by Pakistani Taliban in September 2010 and released last month after being held in countrys troubled northwest tribal region.
Today, the VC formally met all the deans, chairmen, departments and administrative heads of the university.
Khan will also meet representatives of newspapers and media channels.
Im very happy to be among all of you once again, during my captivity I kept thinking of how to improve this institution and how to work for its betterment, he said while speaking to media persons. - Samaa
