PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto's interview to an Indian news agency

GUJRANWALA, March 6: Leaders of various religious parties and ulema
have condemned PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto's interview to an Indian
news agency in which she stated that seminaries in Pakistan were dens of
terrorists.
She stated that these seminaries were preparing the
youth for terrorist activities like Taliban in Afghanistan. She also
suggested western countries to set up a plan for the elimination of these
seminaries.
At a meeting held here on Monday with Pakistan Shariat
Council Chief Maulana Zahidur Rashadi in the chair, ulema of various
religious parties said Pakistan was created in the name of Islam and the
Quaid-i-Azam had made it clear that its constitution would be Islamic.
They said the dream of Ms Bhutto or the western powers would never come
true.
