PMLN Propaganda and Media

For last few days I have been feeling that Noon Leagues Propaganda machine is working. Mostly because our media is in their favor. Here I am talking about the new bulletins and print media, most of the talk shows still follow some balance but news selection and news distortion is what bother's me most.
Here are a few profs:

1) Some channels never showed Waziristan march as first headline and showed it as second or third news. Major news that day was Abdur Razaq bashing his captain. Is that more important than the peace march that the whole World was following.
2) Bakery case never become too big news bulletins and in newspapers till PM's son-in-law got arrested and then the news was inclined to favor N-League. These bulletins changed the whole course of the debate.
3) Today's news that "number of people singing national anthem broke a record" got same coverage as Waziristan March it seems. Though everyone knows that its a show off.
4) A special place newspaper is given to Shahbaz Sharif's daily news and picture.

I have been following this forum for so long but never found the need to write much. But now I feel that social media is a medium to keep a check on electronic as well as paper medium. I think instead of bashing talk show presenters we should raise our voice against this fabricated news reporting. This is more dangerous because it makes opinions of everyone including the talk show hosts. Look at how most of the hosts praised that PM's son-in-law got arrested. That includes some anti PMLN hosts. That is because news bulletins and newspapers portrayed it as a very big achievement.

I give you an example: couple of days ago KHABARNAAK mai Aftab ne Mian brothers ki kit lagai to PTI walon ko Aftab acha laga. as soon he says some thing about (Hazrat Imran Khan) you guy start abusing him.

yeah 100% agree, city 42 which is the local channel was showing ice cream Parlour opening when our national media was barking for Shoobaz Shairif , same thought came into my mind on the day of march all the media excpet for 1 or two showed Razzaq as the Headline ,this is Pathetic.

Questions from Nawaz Sharif related to Asghar Khan case...

Dear Mr. Sharif,

Finally the short judgment is in. It is now a proven fact that money was distributed by ISI to form and give strength to IJI against PPP in the 1990 elections. I have a few questions regarding this case;

• The judgement says that there is insufficient evidence against the politicians. I can recognise that. Since such transactions do not generally have an audit trail. But as senior head of the IJI and the eventual PM you must surely have been aware of these happenings. Please come out with a categoric statement in the wake of the judgment whether you knew about this or not? I find it very hard to believe that the whole scheme was hatched to get you into power but you were never in the loop on this. I am not suggesting that you took the money as that is not an established fact yet. I am just asking if you knew what was happening?

• Assuming that the answer to the above question is yes (I cant fathom how it could be no (bigsmile)), please let us know who actually took the money. The authorities are struggling to implicate the relevant politicians, I am sure you can assist them (bigsmile)

• My third question is the most important. Surely the people who were distributing money around must have had an objective in mind. Apparently, you were a part of their objective. Can you enlighten us on what was your end of the bargain? What did you do to pay back their generosity?

I agree that we need stronger social media to counter the paid-off mainstream media. We as people have to take this step before they even take over the alternative media as well.

I do not think Nawaz Sharif will be answering to these questions, however a few answers are delivered by the son of the petitioner which will help understand it in a broader sense.

As we know that failing to find a chance to paint itself "mazloom" despite last 3 years campaign, PPP has this straw in hand, shedding tears and beating its chest now for an act 22 years ago.

Ali Asghar Khan, son of the petitioner, Air Marshal (R) Asghar Khan has elaborated that:

.Throughout the case proceeding, PPP government not only avoided to cooperate but rather created hurdles by its legal team to delay the proceeds.

.PPP government failed to provide documents required by the court to reach any conclusions.

.The funds used in 1990 elections by establishment were not against PPP but target was Peoples Democratic Alliance and PPP was only part of that front.

.The major accusers were awarded with favors later by PPP. Aslam Baig was decorated with medal of democracy by Be-Nazir and Asad Durrani was crowned by Bibi, appointing him Pakistan's embassador in Germany.

In short, despite having different faces, all shades of our political spectrum were pleased with the funds and enjoyed it. Whatever PPP and PML-N say now is their own play of deceptive strategy.
