Pakistan today successfully test fired its short range Surface to Surface (STS) Ballistic Missile Hataf-2 (Abdali). The missile test was conducted as part of the process of validation and technical improvements in the Land Based Ballistic Missile Systems.

Hataf-2 (Abdali) with a range of 180 Kms can carry nuclear as well as conventional war heads with high accuracy.

The test was witnessed by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Director General Strategic Plans Division, Lieutenant General (Retd) Khalid Ahmed Kidwai, Commander Army Strategic Force Command Lieutenant General Jamil Haider, Chairman SUPARCO Major General Ahmed Bilal, Senior officers from the Armed Forces and Scientists and Engineers of Strategic Organizations.

On this occasion the CJCSC reiterated that the test will go a long way in consolidating Pakistan’s Strategic deterrence capability and further strengthening national security. He said that in the hierarchy of military operations, the Abdalli weapons system now provides Pakistan with an operational level capability, additional to the strategic level capability, which Pakistan already possess because of its medium range and long range Ballistic missile systems. He further added that Pakistan’s resolve and commitment to continue its strategic progress will remain paramount.

The successful test has also been warmly appreciated by the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan who have congratulated the Scientists and Engineers on their outstanding successes. ISPR

It's OK but the need of the hour is to dispel the impression that these 3 or 4 Star Generals are not weak in character like Pervaiz Musharraf and are men of action! In addition, the Nation is looking forward to see their pivotal role in removing the menace of corruption, nepotism and injustice to benefit the common man instead taking care of inapt politicians in their sinister and criminal practices. No more 'Yes Sir' to CIA or the Americans! Nip the evil once for all without seeking any acknowledgement or reward. Say, "Enough is Enough!' with a spirit showing high moral. Congrats.... no electricity,,no gas supply, no clean water, with poverty level 70%+ of total population, foreign debt amounting to $70 billion, millions ditching education and forced into child labour due to highest food inflation in Asia[mehengayi], and pak civilians being murdered in the name of colatteral damage by a foreign country due to drone strikes. A country that has compromised its sovereignty and is a laughing stock with a begging bowl should look at its sorry state of its citizens first, then it'll be more secured.
