If you bowl out Australia for 88 and still struggle to win a test match, you seriously need to be more worried than excited.
They should bring Younis and Yousif back. Their presence will provide more strength to the middle order and most impotantly will help the young guys learn from their experience. We have thrown the two young guys in number 3 and 4 positions in the most difficult conditions and are subsequently looking for great results from them. This is even unfair to them. They are very talented young guys. If they are let to learn around Younis and Yousif, they can be a great asset to the team. OR if you don't want younis and yousif in the team then don't expect too much from these guys. Let them give a run for a year or so and they will get into the groove. No matter what, somebody please ask Ijaz BUTT to call it a day. He is a waste of time, space and money. I saw him punching his fist in the air today. I don't know what was he celebrating.
Nevertheless good job guys.

No matter what happened on the field, it will go as a win for Pakistan after 15 years. I think credit should be given to Imran Farhat as well, as he compiled very useful runs under pressure and made a big contribution towards the win. Although there were some nerves but that is what Australian cricket is all about. They give you hardest times in the field.

Very spot on analysis. Our bowlers won't be doing these kind of miracles everyday. Our batting line up is one of the weakest in the world for test cricket. We are putting too much pressure on players like Umar Akmal. He is an attacking and aggressive cricket. In the last innings he was forced to bat defensively and got out within a few balls. Also If you check his average when yosuf playing, it's almost hitting 55 and with out him mere 15.

I hope the management will realize this sooner than later and have yosuf in the test team. I'm sure there are issues but that is management's duty to resolve issues. We can't keep a player out of the team of such caliber.

Root : I was not even thinking about Umar Akmal's performance. You reminded me of him and you are absolutely right. In absence of Yousaf and Younis, he is asked to stay long and score big in the middle order. He has emence talent. He is a free stroke player. Now you are putting huge pressure on his style of playing. He can't stop playing his game because this is what makes him " Umar Akmal" and you want him to play against his own style. Well, if this is what the management wants him to do, he will keep giving you 15 runs. Brninging Yousaf and Younis back completely changes Umar's mental approach to the game. Now you let him free in his own cricketing world and take middle order sole responsble batsman pressure off him. Which allows him to play his cricket and you get 55 out of him.
And as I have already said that the young guys will learn from them. Ther are averaging more than 50 in test cricket. No many in the world are doing that, forget about Pakistan. So no body should argue about their caliber. Some people might don't want them in the team because of their past attitude. I think they are the most easy guys to work with. Just tell them that Salman is your captain for next hundred years ! We want your contributions for the country. And they are pretty no non sense guys. Captaincy was the only big issue which was producing that freaky attitude in them. Once you take care of that part, they are good to go.
And you made a good point that management will realize it sooner than later. I hope they do. But looking at Ijaz Butt's intelectual excellency, I am afraid it is going to be a late call. They are going to lose couple of test matches in england because of batting and then only Ijaz butt's ' intellect in hibernation" will wake up. Though I would have loved seeing him hibernating in selection matters but we are not that lucky of a nation.
I hope young guys prove me wrong and wont even need yousaf and younis... Good luck !!!
