ISLAMABAD: The food exports of the country during the first eight months of current fiscal year 2012-13 increased by 9.22 percent. The exports of overall food group were recorded at $2.963 billion during July-February 2012-13 as against the exports of $2.713 billion during July-February 2011-12.
According to data of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the food exports of the country on monthly basis also increased by 10.71 percent during February 2013 as against the same period of last year whereas when compared to January 2103, the food exports during February 2013 decreased by 20.23 percent. The food exports increased from $368.456 in February 2012 to $407.905 in February 2013, while the exports in January 2013 were recorded at $511.326 million.
