News: A Deal lets US keep permanent military bases in Afghanistan

The draft of a strategic deal between Washington and Kabul envisions giving the United States the authority to set up permanent military bases in Afghanistan.


American and Afghan official are set to discuss the deal at Loya Jirga (Traditional Grand Assembly) with tribal elders and political figures.

The recently-released draft shows that the US would be able to establish permanent military bases in Shindand, Shorabak, Kandahar, Bagram, and Khost.

According to the agreement, Washington can set up more military bases in other parts of Afghanistan whenever it deems necessary.

The military bases, which will be run based on US Army regulations, would be in complete control of the US government.

The Afghan airspace will be handed over to American forces after the strategic deal comes into effect.

If an agreement is reached on the permanent bases, US troops will remain on Afghan soil beyond 2014, when they are scheduled to transfer their security responsibilities to Afghan forces.

The draft also states that all US military and civilian personnel must act according to the American constitution at the time of military operations.

The United States invaded Afghanistan in 2001. There are nearly150,000 US-led forces in the war-hit country.

Useless agreement , This agreement will be made with puppet government of Afghanistan.What if Taliban come into power then will US forces be able to survive in their bases ? Will Tabilan respect the agreement?

Well historically americans kept their basis in all the countries the won ............but they did no have any in Vietnam and they will not keep one in afghanistan.

Because they did not conquer afghanitan, and they are leaving as a defeated nation.

These statements are face saving for their own people to show if they have won the war.....

Billion $ question now is how the hell will we be able to sustain our Free Hand outs. AS USA door is closing, who will

Possible India? start sending in so called Mujahideen into Indian controlled Kashmir and then charging Indian Government head money ?
Like we did for free, in Kargil.... giving out GPS coordinate of Pakistani Mujahideen Bunkers under severe US pressure.

Even if Saudi Arabia start to become smart, we can make 19 or 20th Consittutional addmendment and take our Case to Saudi Arabia ..

We can Easly Black Mail Saudi Arabia, Telling them if they dont give us X amount of $$$ we will change the name of Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Barelvi Maslak of Pakistan.

The only thing defeated is your brain. Americans are leaving on their own terms at a date which they themselves picked 4 years in advance. The war in Afghanistan was nothing but a duckshoot for them. They could have just dropped a couple of Megaton Nuclear bombs and extermined afghanistan forever if they wanted to.

Conqurers do not leave....only defeated armies leave.....
when they conqured japan fifty years ago they still got forces there....
they still got forces in germany......

but not forces in vietnam....and again...they are leaving afghanistan not by will but because this war has given them another humiliation ....

well if you think RAMBO has won afghanistan than you are living in dream world...but reality is ..they are running away ....
