Google has just introduced a brand new tool in its portfolio, called uProxy. This is an extension that should help people from countries where access to the Internet is limited or behind a strict firewall to access the open Internet.

Google announced uProxy on Monday at the Google Ideas Summit in New York, but the tool is not exactly ready yet. Furthermore, the company doesn’t even want to speculate about when users will be able to use it yet, saying instead they want to try it out through a few trusted testers in order to improve it and build up its security, Mashable reports.

“The reason it is closed source at the moment, the reason we’re not open sourcing it right now, is exactly that we don’t want people to start using it before, actually, it’s safe and secure,” said Google Ideas’ lead engineer.

uProxy is set to work as a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox, two of the most used browsers in the world, and it will work as a personalized VPN.

Google is the biggest violator of privacy. To give you a prime example, just go to uproxy.org website and try to get your hands on uProxy software. Even though they promise to give you unrestricted internet, they are not promising that this internet would not be snooped upon (and Activists do not like that at all!)

This is what you get!

Oops! There goes your privacy!

I would let Google violate my privacy anyday over letting the Pakistani government Violate my right to access unfiltered Internet.
