Five year mandate is not written in stone. Most parliamentary type democracies (Australia, Canada, India and others) all have five year terms for governments but they hardly wait for five years. On average elections are held between 3-4 years after last elections in those countries, sometimes earlier if the government feels that it needs a fresh mandate over some critical issue (India-US nuclear deal for example). In Pakistan unfortunately 5-year term means five years of non-stop looting.
So get out of this stupid logic of 5-years. Fresh elections (free, fair, transparent) more frequently strengthen democracy not weaken it.
