After all the power producing companies have been streamlined and producing profits, a dept should be formed.

This dept should be called National Utilities Commission of Pakistan (NUCOP). Its task would be to oversee of further explorations for power. Power producing companies should be sold to the highest bidding corporate making it private companies with NUCOP being its overseer.

Lets not forget that IK or his party is not going to live for ever and we want stable supply of utilities for our grand children and their grand children. This can only happen if these companies are privatized.

Down the road exploration of natural gas should also be put under NUCOP.

It would be great for the country if KPK government agrees to take over PESCO and then stops all electricity theft and non-payment of bills.

KPK government should immediately take control of PESCO and should not delay the issue by asking for control of dams before it accepts control of PESCO, because then this will give a chance to PMLN to say that PTI is using the issue only to divert attention from massive theft of electricity in KPK. On the other hand, if KPK government takes charge of PESCO and then reduces theft and makes it profitable, this will show the whole country that PTI does not only talk but can actually perform as well. This will be a great achievement of PTI for Pakistan and for the next election campaign.

Same in Baluchistan and even included South side of Afghanistan before US invasion.

Noon's experienced suckers just want to pitch PTI vs army,

I think that Imran Khan knew the situation better than you and me when he asked for handing over of PESCO to KPK. Now when the federal government has agreed to this demand, back tracking is not an option and will be a great setback for PTI's reputation.

Also, you seem to be mistaken about PESCO situation. Army does not control a significant number of feeders nor does it supply free electricity to anybody. Most areas bordering Afghanistan are supplied electricity by TESCO, not by PESCO.

Taking PESCO without dams is like some one calls you for dinner. But when you get there he tells you clean the plates.

Asad Umer, CM Khattak and Imran Khan have multiple times said in interviews that its simply not possible to take control of DISCOS without controlling Gencos.

If PMLN is sincere they should hand over both. ( Of-course with guaranteed level of supplies negotiated in CCI like its done for minerals gas etc.)

But Federal govt hasn't even bothered paying Hydel royalties since 1991 dosent even provide its promised share electricity, so thinking they will ever hand over dams is not realistic. It would be like removing a huge subsidy from Punjabs industries at once.

PTI's offer, which has been made in the past by Asad Umar and Pervez Khattak as well, was for complete control of generation and distribution in KPK. Pick and choose is not an option. Kh. Asif has tried to be cheeky in offering just PESCO control, which means, collect bills and stem power theft, but dont talk about power generation.

It will be quite silly for KPK govt to continue to provide power to the rest of the country at 1 rupee per unit, and then buy it back at 18 per unit, all the while going through 18 hour blackouts in certain areas. Plus, they would also be doing all the grunt work by going after power thieves and non payers.

Either hand over complete control, or keep it with the fed and continue to be a failure.

I agree that in politics you have to make brave decisions
But here game is not just distribution of electricity or collecting bills
it is stopping army from using their leverages, can we persuade them, that is debatable ....

PMLn should be given the credit as well because they have accepted IK,s pproposal and offered what Khan sb wants. Our PTI friends should appreciate Kh Asif instead of chasing conspiracy theories...I am sure PTI govt will make Pesco profitable

the only thing he has to do is eradicate corruptions.

but if PTI does a good job and makes PESCO a profitable company, PMLN must not be allowed to get the credit
