Kanria is found guilty by county cricket's committee

News is breaking Kanaria is found guilty in match fixing charges by County Cricket's disciplinary committee.

He was charged for providing the instructions to Westfield to bowl no balls etc.
Westfield alleged that Kanaria was the go between him and the Bookies.

Earlier, Westfield was charged and convicted for match fixing by the Magistrate courts.

Kanaria is expected to get 3 to 5 years ban from cricket around the Globe.

PCB officer also attended the hearing. PCB pointed that Kanaria has not been selected because of the suspicions of match fixing against him.

Another one has given a good name to Pakistan.


When are we going to learn and start accountability of people. If they are sportsmen, politicians, Journalists, Military men, Bureaucrats.

Danish Kaneria, the Pakistan legspinner, has been found guilty of corruption by an ECB disciplinary panel in relation to the spot-fixing case involving Mervyn Westfield with a decision on the ban of sanctions to follow later today. Westfield was also charged with one offence under the ECB's regulations to which he pleaded guilty.
Both players were charged last month in the wake of Westfield's imprisonment. Kaneria was implicated in spot-fixing during Westfield's trial at London's Central Criminal Court but has denied the allegations.
Westfield, a former Essex fast bowler, was jailed for four months in January after he admitted underperforming in a Pro40 match against Durham in September 2009. Kaneria, Essex's overseas player for several seasons, was named by the judge at the Old Bailey as the orchestrator of the plot but he was never charged by the police, on the grounds of insufficient evidence.
The disciplinary panel, which consisted of Gerard Elias QC, David Gabbitass and Jamie Dalrymple, concluded: "Danish Kaneria knowingly induced or encouraged Mervyn Westfield not to perform on his merits in the Durham match."
The PCB have indicated they will honour any sanctions handed out by the ECB to Kaneria.
