Shawwal / Eid Al Fitr 1432/ 2011 Announcement

There have been no verified reports of crescent sightings in the parameters and the defined regions of the Hilal Committee of GTA, on the eve of Monday August 29th 2011 (29th Ramadan). The Hilal Committee of Toronto has declared the month of Ramadan to complete 30 days. The 1st of Shawwal / Eid Al Fitr 1432 is officialy announced to be on Wednesday 31st August 2011.

Eid ul Fitr will be on Wednesday 31st August 2011​

The Hilal Committee with it's membership of more than 80 organizations wishes one and all a blessed and joyful Eid ul Fitr.

Eid will be on Tuesday, August 30 and the prayer timings are 7:30 am, 9:30 am and 11:30 am. Admittance time is one hour before the prayer, especially for second and third prayers. Please cooperate with the volunteers and park your cars in reverse to avoid jams.

In British Columbia Eid will be celebrated on Tuesday August 30, 2011.

Juts would like to mention that there is 3-hours time difference (5 - 6 hours flight) between British Columbia & Ontario. So there might be no moon sight in Toronto but BCMCA has confirmed moon sigh in Vancouver. This is why probably there are 2-Eids in Canada.
Again to remind that Eid on Moon Sight not on days of Ramadan.

Its not like that actually ISNA decided they will celebrate Eid on Tuesday and Hilalcommette decided they will celebrate Eid on Wednesday So Toronto Mulims have two Eids

well there are actually two eids in Toronto only. The rest of Canada is celebrating Eid unanimously tomorrow on Tuesday. There has been enough evidence for eid on Tuesday but the hardline mullahs of GTA are trying to create same differences as they have done in Pakistan. We are celebrating Eid tomorrow Insha Allah.

I don't know why all muslim uma can't celebrate in one day. Shame on Pakistani selfish Mulah and etc who just can't celebrate EID with Saudi. All the muslim countries in the world follow Saudi, but my Pakistani Mulah's :-(

The problem here in Canada is that ISNA and few other organizations ... they go by a calendar already setup scientifically ... so they already know well in advance when a certain Islamic month will begin and when will the Eid be ... and in most cases, they follow Saudi Arabia which BTW follow the correct Islamic guidelines of seeing the new moon physically before deciding on the start of the holy months or Eid. The same thing here in Canada ... there are organizations which strictly follow the guidelines of having confirmation of new moon when it is visible and it wasn't visible at all yesterday at least in Ontario and no one came forward with confirm sighting thus Eid is on Wednesday.
