مسئلہ چاند کا نہیں مولوی صاحب کے کاروبار کا ہے

جب تک کوئی کمیٹی جو صرف چاند دیکھے ناکہ مذہبی مسئلہ بنائے یہ مسئلہ حل نہیں ہو گا

مولویوں کی ڈارھیوں میں صرف فساد ہی پھیلا ہے، اس لیے چاند کبھی پشاور والوں کو پہلے نظر آ جاتا ہے کبھی اسلام آباد یا کراچی والوں کو۔ اگر مولویوں کی بجائے عام مسلمان اسے دیکھ لیں اور شکل دکھائے بغیر بتا دیں تو شاید اس ملک کا کوئی حل نکل آئے۔

Rabat – The Fiqh Council of North America has announced that the first day of Eid Al Fitr will be on Tuesday, June 4.

The council said that the “Astronomical New Moon is on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 10:03 Universal Time. On that day, near Miami, Florida at sunset the elongation is 8 degrees and moon is 5 degrees above the sun. Therefore the first day of Shawwal 1440 is Tuesday, June 4, 2019.”

The council said that it uses the “criteria of European Council of Fatwa and Research (ECFR).

The statement of also acknowledged that the council uses astronomical calculation as “an acceptable Shari’ method” to determine the beginning of lunar months, including the holy month of Ramadan and Shawwal, the tenth month in the Islamic calendar.

In some countries, experts sometimes debate whether the appearance of the Moon in one city – usually the capital – necessarily means that it has appeared in the skies of other areas. All this explains why moon-sighting is controversial.

In spite of this, many traditional theologians insist that it is important for all Muslims to break the fast at once. This, they say, is more important than the sighting of the crescent. However, that hasn’t deterred nations, including Morocco, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Egypt, from starting Ramadan on different days.

In the past, the start dates widely varied. For example, in 1999, Eid Al Adha was celebrated in India and Pakistan two days after the Middle East, prompting many to deplore the wide gap despite the regions sharing geographical proximity.

Islam also tells us to look at shadow length for namaz timings. Yet not a single Maulvi uses this method. They all use watches instead.
Similar is with moon position. Modern tools have to be used. Even maulvis use telescopes which is a scientific tool.
