I have studied European history intensively at university in Canada. Democracy did not come to most European countries until 19th century or 20th century if you count black males and females (Concept of one man one vote) Universal suffrage is something that is very new from the 20th century.. Many empires were dissolved after end of WWI, The German empire, the Austro-Hungarian empire, the Russian Empire, the Ottoman Empire etc...Even France was ruled by monarchy and then Napoleon and then monarchy again after the battle of waterloo. Even at that stage Europe was far ahead of the rest of the world in terms of education and technology. Germany and France has the best polytech institutes in the world. Look at the patents and inventions coming from Europe at that time and compare it to the rest of the world.
Also not everyone had the right to vote, mostly educated (males) of the upper class, if you study the the French revolution the upper class which was less in proportion of the total population had a higher weightage than the rest of the classes.
It is not as simple as you think, there are various variable taken into consideration cultures, religions etc. One system might work for one people it might not work for another. There are many preconditions of having a genuine democracy, religion, culture, education, class structures, property rights are just some of them.

Study the history of the west prior to the birth of democracy. You will learn they were little different from us.

Here is the number of democracies in the world in last few hundred years... Notice it took off only after WW2. Until 1850 there was only 1 democracy in the world.

Here is the Illiteracy rate of France... in 1885 France literacy rate was over 95%... Remember the 5th French Republic has only been in place since 4 Oct 1958 and has been in place ever since.

Pakistan literacy rate is 58% and we all know its overstated, its just people who can as much as just write their own name.

So according to your logic taking into account your previous comments we should not aspire for democracy? Dictatorships is the best what our people can aspire for? You think that the westerners are a special breed of humans fit for democracy and we are not? and that we should continue to exist in semi barbarian state as slaves to dictators? or maybe we too can aspire for democracy and high education or are we beyond that?

There is nothing wrong with aspiring for democracy, its just that we are not ready for it yet and its a utopia for us at this time. We are 200-400 years behind the West depending on what you compare.
Dictatorships are hit and miss. It could be very good system if you happen to get a good dictator who is honest competent etc. But its a gamble. In my opinion the best option for now could be a technocrat setup to be honest as I do not see any other option.

Suppose you want to continue with the democracy we have now. Democracy means your neighbour decides your future... who is your neighbour? Pakistani governments are decided in Rural and Sub-Rural areas because majority of the population lives in villages and small towns. These people are mostly illiterate, extremely uneducated, delusional, ignorant believing in superstition and personality cults. Do you really want these people to decide your future? You cant be serious.
