Notice that he's written this for DAWN, targeting the pakistani audience. There is no way he would not acknowledge the success of IK's visit.

What's more important is his criticism, because that most likely his real motive and agenda.

He's beating the drum again about the propaganda of media censorship (all the while he is not being censored for claiming that Khan censors critics).

He's also tried to give the opposition talking points to combat PIT's PR campaign. He's tried to say that Khan's efforts are not unique, citing Benazir and musharaf.
